Our home is in a transitioning neighborhood and is great for seeing an emerging farming / art community. We’re centrally located! It’s just a seven minute drive to the stadiums and only two minutes to Eastern Market which is a bustling Saturday morning market with fresh finds. We pride ourselves on our great communication and facilitating a great guest experience. We operate like a hostel. Come enjoy the non-gentrified Detroit with us! The space This house was built by grit and love! Load bearing walls were restructured, a pallet wall was built, and funky finds can be seen throughout. The house is mostly finished but a few side projects remain. Is a house ever really done? The room is comfortable and cool. Our home is surrounded by vacant lots that wonder what they'll become. The block is a tight network of 8 family homes. To the edge of Downtown it's a 8 min drive, 15 min bike ride, and a 25 min bus ride. Through the pain of this house’s construction, we've tasted the ashes that Detroit is rising from. From these ashes are fruits we'd love to share with guests. Enjoy experiencing Detroit's neighborhoods at our house that was built by grit and love. Guest access Private areas: Your room will be a private space for you. Shared spaces: Guests will have access to the dining room, living room, kitchen and shared bath on the second level. Kitchen notes: Guest are allowed to use the microwave, toaster, coffee pot, refrigerator, freezer and convection oven. Guests are NOT ALLOWED to use the oven, stove top or frying pans. Each room has a dedicated shelf in the kitchen for dry good storage. Please label any items that you place in the refrigerator or freezer with your room number. During your stay I'm not always available in person. via messaging on the Airbnb platform. The co-hosts, Joyce and Jason may be in the home from time to time. If you need to reach someone quickly, messaging is best. Other things to note All smoking and vaping is to be done outdoors and behind the house. Any guest who smokes or vapes inside our home will be charged a $150 cleaning fee. We appreciate your commitment to our non-smoking policy. Quiet time is from 10 pm to 7 am and we request no loud music at any time. Please be quiet when arriving late. We are not responsible for any damage or stolen property in the vehicles or in your room. We ask that you clean up after yourselves in all shared spaces for the benefit of yourself and the guests sharing our space. There are no parties allowed. There are no pets allowed. The max guest count is (2) persons. That includes anyone visiting the space at any time, not just overnight guests. No guests are allowed on property. Violations of any of our policies may result in forfeiture of your security deposit, a cancelled booking and removal from the property. Thanks again for following the rules and guidelines.
