The space Apart from being a great base for exploring the beautiful West Coast of Tasmania, the Strahan Wilderness Lodge is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views, read a book & reflect in private. Your private suite in the Strahan Wilderness Lodge overlooks the gardens and the fishing fleet anchored in Mill Bay; take a stroll to Smugglers Cove or the Harbour View terrace en route maybe catching a glimpse of some of Tasmania’s rarest birds which frequent the grounds. The suite is self contained in that it has a kitchenette with fridge, toaster, tea & coffee making and convection microwave oven. Electric frying pan and toasted sandwich maker. Further cooking can be done outside, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are supplied. Enjoy sitting by one of our fire pots in the evening, while you take in the surrounding nature and harbour views (firewood supplied and subject to any current fire restrictions at the time). Free wifi and a smart TV. Airconditioning with heating and cooling. King size bed with electric blankets for the chilly nights. Spare blankets and pillows. A peaceful place to relax & take in the views are of bushland, harbour, and distant mountains. Ocean Beach (Tasmania's longest beach) is a 5 minute drive away and the sound of the surf can be heard from our property, especially at night. Spend a relaxing day amongst a diversity of birdlife and wildflowers. Take a short five minutes, or extended 40 minutes walk as you explore the boats and foreshore. Nearby walk to Hogarth Falls through a beautiful rainforest. Only 3 minute drive into the centre of town, eateries and cruise terminals. 5 minutes drive to the Wilderness Railway station. Guest access Guests have full use of the garden, picnic tables, bbq and fire pots on the property. Other things to note As our place is an older style b&b (guest house) with other guest rooms we ask that all noise is kept to a minimum between 9pm and 8am. The place has a few quirks like the odd squeaky floor board, but you get that you get with 120+ year old houses. It is also or home, but we have our own seperate living area.
