This unique five-bay stable block conversion retains the original 'wriggly tin' shed whilst the inside has been transformed into a charming characterful home complete with an Aga in the kitchen and a stone fireplace with wood burner warming the living room. The space The Old Stables nestles on the outskirts of the delightful Dartmoor National Park boundary village of Dunsford. Located next to a former Mill on the banks of the River Teign alongside a small hamlet of old converted barns and cottages. It's quiet and peaceful setting with river views and the charming soundtrack of flowing water offers a unique and tranquil experience. Situated on the edge of a large National Trust Woodland area of outstanding natural beauty you will find plenty of country, river bank and woodland walks from the house; with the famous Dunsford Stepping Stones and nearby Steps Bridge right on the doorstep. The Old Stables has a charm and warmth all of its own - whilst modest in size it's internal décor and style with - an aga kitchen, pine panelled bathrooms, granite stone wood burner fireplace, original beamed rooms - all adding to the setting for a cosy and homely two person country escape. An ideal place to relax and enjoy getting away from the busy hubbub of life... as well as the perfect staycation spot to experience the beauty of Dartmoor and explore the Teign Valley with its many pubs and walks nearby. Guest access Guests have access to the whole of The Old Stables. There is private parking adjacent to the property, use of a large garden (shared with Ian) with stunning views of the apple orchard, river and woodland views, a riverside picnic area, comfy swing seat, several benches and both sunny and shady areas to suit all seasons. While our rural location means mobile signal can be a bit hit or miss, we've got you covered with fast, reliable Wi-Fi thanks to our recently installed Starlink system. So, you can stay connected and enjoy seamless internet access throughout your stay, no matter how remote you feel!
