Come discover deep Japan. IF YOU WANT TO CLIMB MOUNT FUJI... People have climbed Mount Fuji during their stay at my guesthouse, so I have created the following plan: Request that I drive you to JR Kofu Station to catch the 5:50 am bus to Kawaguchiko Station (bus cost is about ¥1,600 and leaves from platform 5). Catch a bus from Kawaguchiko Station to the fifth station on Mount Fuji (bus cost is about ¥3,000 return). A recent guest caught the 7:30 am bus to the fifth station. He then ascended and descended the volcano in 7 hours (This guy was a very fit 25-year-old). He then caught the 14:20 bus from the fifth station back to Kawaguchiko Station (bus leaves every hour). Finally, he caught the 15:40 bus from Kawaguchiko Station back to JR Kofu Station (from platform 5) where he caught the local train back to my guesthouse. Needless to say, he was exhausted! While bus service to and from the fifth station on Mount Fuji is reliable during the July to September climbing season, I cannot speak for the other times of year. I personally prefer the hike from Umagaeshi to the fifth station. This hike is doable in any season, however, the bus to Umagaeshi only runs from Mount Fuji Station (Fujisan Station). Buses are available daily from the beginning of July to the end of August for ¥500 (one-way) or ¥930 (return). The bus leaves Mount Fuji Station (Fujisan Station) every hour, or thereabouts, between 9:10 and 15:00. The bus trip takes about 30 minutes. Once you have climbed to the fifth station, you can catch a bus back down the mountain. Having said all this, if you are going to climb Mount Fuji just once, and you are fit, I would climb from Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine. It will take longer, but if you are an obsessive control freak like me, you'll be able to rest assured that you didn't miss a thing! Registration Details M190012785
