A room with a view

The studio is part of a bigger traditional old Stone house, fully renovated and with great view to the harbour. One reaches the houses in 10-15 minutes walk (and stairs) from the port depending on each person's pace. It is fully renovated and has a magnificent view of the entire port of Hydra from the large central window. From the port it is about 10-15 minutes walk and stairs (depending on the pace of each). Hydra is amphitheatrically built and the house has a view because it is a little high. People with mobility problems will have a hard time. Guest access Guests can come to the island by flying dolphins of the Hellenic Seaways company (about 2 hours trip) but also by local route from Metochi (20' trip, 6.5 euros per individual ticket) located in the Peloponnese, just opposite the port of Hydra. One can only go to Metochi by car and it is about three hours from Athens. (http://hydracelebrity.gr/) Visitors may reach the island by sea with the Flying Dolphins (app. 2 hours) from the Hellenic Seaways company that leave from Pireus Port or by car, until Metoxi, in Peloponnisos (three hours drive from Athens) and then take a local boat to Idra (20 minutes, 6.5 euro ticket). You can find the time table here (http://hydracelebrity.gr/) Other things to note Hydra in general is a very picturesque island and what makes it unique is that it has no roads, cars and motorcycles. The municipality of Hydra has only one garbage truck and the hospital has one ambulance. Transportation on the island is done by donkeys, mules and horses. What the guest should know is that the studio has a wonderful view because it is a little high (7-10' from the port) but it has enough steps to reach. It is possible to hire a porter from the port to bring the suitcases to the house if the guest is overloaded or does not want to carry his/her things for some reason on the stairs.
