Because we're pet friendly, if you bring your pets they normally use all the furniture, so it takes longer to clean the cabin. Therefore, an additional cleaning fee may be charged. After a beautiful drive about 20 miles up the Frying Pan River from Basalt, Co, you will the Ruedi Reservoir with 200 sq miles of boating, fishing and swimming area and beautiful homes on the mountains above. At this point, you are about five miles from the town of Meredith with a small community of single family homes, a small store, the Meredith Post Office, Basalt Volunteer Fire Dept, and the quaint local church. You will be at 8,000 feet when you arrive at the Neal Cabin. Above the Neal Cabin and surrounding homes, you can continue up the valley road between the mountains You will see the Lime Kilns, the winding River and pass the Diamond J Ranch lodge, Chapman Dam with camping sites, and potentially dear, fox and bear. No public transportation is available in Meredith. However, you can safely walk, bike or drive up the past the house if you stay on the main paved road. You will need additional information if you go off the main paved road. There is no gasoline, grocery store or cell service after you start up the Frying Pan road. Basalt is the last full service town. The cabin currently has land line telephone and satellite TV. I will be adding WIFI in the near future. There is a fire pit with some utensils and a propane grill on the back porch. You are welcome to use either. You will need to bring fire wood and propane. If you use the fire pit, please move it to the flat red rocks located on the back of the gravel driveway. Also, ensure you are aware of fire rules if there are any notices in place and please ensure the fire is completely out when you are finished using it. The cabin has start up toilet tissue and paper towels.
