Set on the ever popular Watamu Beach, this wonderful, relaxed, old colonial style property comes with 1 double bedroom upstairs and 2 double bedrooms downstairs, 1 of which has a bunk bed room attached making a perfect family friendly space. Donnelly House is self catering with chef! Set in 2 acres of indigenous forest, it comes with a swimming pool, direct beach access and plenty of outside space for dining and relaxing, including a rooftop terrace for sundowners and enjoying the ocean view. The space The property is self catering but includes a chef. We sleep 6 adults + up to 2 children under 12 so perfect for family gatherings. OUTSIDE SPACES The property is set within indigenous coastal forest and we are often visited by birds, butterflies and sykes monkeys. The freshwater Pool has a main swimming area and a smaller smaller childrens pool. There are 4 sunbeds, an outside shower and plenty of space for relaxation. The outside eating area is covered and accessed via the living room and has table seating for 6 - 8 for private al-fresco dining. We also have a built in BBQ for enjoying nyama choma and seafood feasts. The roof terrace is a great space for sundowners, sunbathing or yoga. The roof terrace can also be separately accessed via outside steps. THE COMMUNAL SPACES The communal space consists of an inside dining room with seating for 10. The living room is filled with books for guests to enjoy and a sitting area with large lamu style sofa and chairs to comfortably seat 8 people plus drinks fridge and water cooler. The fully equipped kitchen and Utility Room (with washing machine) are available for guests to use. We also have children's games for all ages and some snorkelling equipment for guest use. THE BEDROOMS The Ocean View Master bedroom is located on the first floor, accessed via the open staircase from the living room. It boasts a sea view with balcony, ensuite bathroom, separate WC and seperate wardrobes and changing area. It has Ceiling and standing fans. The master bedroom has a lamu style 4 poster bed (5ft x 6ft), and a lamu style sofa and features direct access to the roof terrace overlooking the sea. The Family room is on the ground floor. It is a large ensuite double bedroom (bed size 6ft x 6ft) with a daybed for afternoon siestas. It has a garden view. It adjoins a room with a double / single bunk bed (5ft x 6ft on the bottom and 3 ft x 6ft) to enable families to sleep close together. It has ceiling and wall fans. The Verandah bedroom is also on the ground floor. It is a smaller double bedroom (bed size 6ft x 6ft) with a pool and garden view. It has a private veranda space including seating area and wetroom bathroom and WC. It has ceiling and wall fans. All of the bedrooms have mosquito nets around the beds and either ceiling or wall fans and there are plenty of standing fans throughout the house. PLEASE NOTE: We do not have AC but there are ceiling fans and standing fans in each bedroom and in all communal spaces. We do not have a TV. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to all spaces in the house and the driveway after the signposts. No access is provided to the garage outbuildings. Other things to note The property is fully staffed including chef, maintenance and housekeeping. You provide the food and we will cook it for you. Security is provided via 24 hour security buttons. We have a 'quiet time' policy between 10pm - 6am. We are neighbours with Watamu Treehouse and nani's ecotower and whilst we are private plots separated by plenty of forest we request that you do not make loud noise after 10pm. We share an access road with our neighbours and in order to ensure that they are not woken by the sound of tuk tuks it is requested that you do not take tuk tuks past the Watamu Treehouse after 9pm unless you are elderley, disabled or have small children. Private vehicles are no problem.
