Kamatha Eco Lodge offers a relaxing and refreshing experience of “the real Sri Lankan life”. With us you can stay in a large, airy, traditional mud hut and let the sounds of nature lull you to sleep or spend the night in our fully equipped camp site and let our team do the hard work while you enjoy a glass of wine and star gaze. We offer a truly unique Sri Lankan experience which can be tailored made to suit your ideal holiday. Our rooms are built to offer a true feel of the Sri Lankan village life, spacious rooms, typical veranda style lounging area, surrounded by paddy fields, jungle and abundant bird calls means Kamatha is by far the best location for an unforgettably unique Sri Lankan experience. Our main cottage offers one bedroom with an attached bath, spacious and comfortable, this cottage also boast of a large lounge area where guest can either read, play some boards games etc We also have a separate cottage with an attached bathroom. Secluded and serene this cottage is much sort after because of its unique location and the serenity it offers. All rooms are equipped with fans, mosquito nets, bedding, towels, toilet paper and soap. Please note that we do NOT have AC and hot water. Food All our food is prepared by an ammay (a local woman who makes exceptionally tasty Sri Lankan food). Enjoy a typical Sri Lankan meal comprising of seasonal vegetables available in and around our gardens with fresh fish caught from the surrounding rivers. Our menus have catered to pallets around the word and Kamatha food has been sort after by many a foreigners and Sri Lankans alike. We are also happy to let you cook along with our Ammay and learn some of the true secrets behind the authentic taste of our curries. Learn about the many Sri Lankan spices and herbs which make our dishes truly unique. Learn to cook your own rice and curry so those at home can share a little bit of the haven you enjoyed.
