A fully-restored seventeenth century house set amidst natural chestnut forest with incredible views of the Apuan Alps and Garfagnana valley just 45 km north of Lucca. Ideal for nature lovers, walkers or skiers in season. Stone-flagged kitchen with open fireplace, limitless fire wood included - owners next door can cook Italian and international meals upon request & offer loads of advice on how best to enjoy Garfagnana in all seasons. The space Quiet and private setting although several restaurants are reachable on foot. Medieval paths through the forest start right from the door and lead to the villages of Chiozza, Castiglione di Garfagnana (recently winner of the most beautiful town in Tuscany award) and Sillico. An ideal place to relax and enjoy spectacular views. Skiing available from end of December till end of February, home recording studio on top floor available on request at surcharge of 30 euro per day. Heating is by open fire which powers the radiators, fire wood is included in price though guests are responsible for feeding fire. Internet is provided via a router in owners house (adjoining) and is sufficient for email and surfing, not so fast for streaming. Although there is no washing machine in the house guests are welcome to use owner's machine at any time, located in adjacent cellar. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the pool and vegetable garden in season, and to use the recording studio upon request.
