Charming Gorge Basecamp with a Private Hot Tub

Welcome! Centrally located in Lyle, WA, our home has 2br, 1 ba + a dedicated office. Enjoy biking, kiting, windsurfing, hiking, whitewater, fishing, wineries + breweries within minutes. Perch with a good book in a sunny window seat or find a sweet nook outside. There is a large, private, terraced backyard to enjoy. It is landscaped and fully fenced in. Enjoy a soak in the hot tub anytime of year, play an array of kid or adult games, or fire up the gas grill for a perfect BBQ. The space • 2BR | 1BA | OFFICE | KITCHEN | LIVING + DINING • Bedroom 1 includes one comfy queen bed with a dresser + closet. • Bedroom 2 has a modular bed set that can either be stacked as a day bed or arranged into L-shape twins. It has a closet to store essentials as well as a rocking chair. I am happy to provide a Lotus travel crib. Please let me know if you have a preference on room set up. • Bathroom has a walk in shower with a river rock floor and concrete walls. • Office includes a desk with light, surge strip and a few extra cords (just in case!) The town is not a technological corridor— we have the best available speeds, which as of summer 2021 are 3MB/521K • Kitchen has stainless JennAir and KitchenAid appliances. It is well stocked with cooking and eating utensils, a keurig, microwave + toaster oven. We also provide basic provisions: salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, coffee, tea, sugar + honey. • Dining+ Living are open concept. Glassware + bar are in the dining room with table linens + games stored below in the built-ins. The living room has cozy seating and a ROKU set up for TV. G U E S T A C C E S S Your stay includes the main house + the back yard. The garage building to the southwest corner of the house is a separate private residence. Lyle, WA is centrally located in the western gorge. The Columbia River is a few blocks to the south and the Klickitat River a few blocks to the west. Outside walking the quaint town + trails around Lyle, you will need a car. There is very little to no public transportation around the gorge. White Salmon is 15 minutes to the west on the Washington side of the Columbia River. In Oregon, Hood River is 20 minutes to the west across the Hood River Brige (toll) and The Dalles is 20 minutes to the east (no toll) There are numerous parking spots on the property: the driveway, just outside of the front gate, and another just up the hill. Please respect the no trespassing signs across the street. P E T P O L I C Y I love our dogs, and I’m so happy to be able to offer a spot where you can bring yours to adventure! Please help me keep this house pet friendly for everyone with these considerations: • Don’t leave your pets alone/uncrated in the house. • Don’t allow them on the furniture. • Pick up poop + messes outside and clean muddy paws with the provided provisions. Any pet damage, inside or outside, will forfeit your security deposit. Other things to note . S T U F F T O D O I N L Y L E The Columbia River is a few blocks to the south. On the Columbia there are opportunities for kiting/swimming on the sandbar (wind dependent) There is a steep boat ramp on the tribal lands. **PLEASE ADHERE TO ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THESE ACTIVITIES!** The Klickitat River a few blocks to the west. You can pick up the Klickitat Trail, which is an old railroad bed, at the end of Spokane and walk or bike the wide, flat trail for about 2.5 miles. (The trail continues up the river as a single track.) Just before mile 1 there is river access and a good swimming hole. There is a sweet little park one block down the hill from the house. It has a big jungle gym, a skate park with a few low rails, rollers and quarter pipes, and a nice covered pavilion. The Sand Bar + Grill has great burgers (one of my favorite burgers in the gorge!) and typical bar fare. There are pool tables [21+over], arcade games [all ages], and the back is family friendly. The Country Cafe will meet your needs for a greasy spoon breakfast. And, at the "The Merc" you will find an array of all the last minute things you may need as well as fishing/hunting lisc. and WA State forest parking passes. Please note these are our favorite things to do within walking distance of the house. There is SO much to do in the area the requires anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes of driving (through beautiful country!) I am more than happy to share more favorites, please don't hesitate to ask!
