The space This is a truly rare opportunity to live in a traditional rural village in Tuscany and in an authentic rustic house rich of history and memories. As I won't be able to spend time in my house in Vagli Sotto over the summer, I am considering to rent it. Ideally you are an open individual, respectful of cross-cultural traditions and appreciative of authentic life and space. You could live in alone, with your partner, your kids, your pets or your friends. You might be an artist, a writer, someone on sabbatical who needs to access creativity while living in a very inspiring and relaxing environment. You are looking to stay long period from 5 days up to one month. The house is also the perfect base to appreciate the pleasures of simple village life and explore the surrounding countryside. You will be immersed in the outstanding heritage of this exceptional medieval stone village in the mountain at a time when the traditions of the Tuscan countryside are under threat. The house is situated in the oldest part of the village next to the main square of San Regolo which host the old church. Vagli Sotto makes a perfect experience for those who enjoys authenticity, simplicity, slow pace of life and nature. The house itself is rustic, simply furnished but comfortable, sleeping up to five people. The house consists of a large dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a large studio area, and two double bedrooms. The dining area leads directly on the large sun terrace ideal for breakfast, dining “al fresco", reading and relaxing. The house is overflowing with books (arts, literature, philosophy), family pictures and has two wood burning stoves on each floor to keep it warm mainly at the beginning of spring ( April & at times in May depending on weather condition) and the beginning of autumn ( end of September and October). There is a washing machine but no dishwasher or television. The house is wired with free wireless WiFi, so you can play your own music directly from your iPhone or Mac. In the village there is one coffee shop/newsagent. There is also one family running rustic restaurant and pizzeria less than one minute from the house. You can find the Post Office, one bank, one chemist, two rustic restaurants, one gelateria (ice cream shop) and one local shop for simple groceries and local products 10 minutes away the historical central. There is a bread delivery to the village each morning at 10.30 am in front of the bar Good Evening and a grocery van comes once a week. Another family running restaurant with breathtaking view is 15 minutes driving distance in the oasis of Campocatino. Other things to note The communal swimming pool opens at the beginning of July and closes at the beginning of September. Please note that the lake is artificial. It typically has ample water during May, June, and July, as shown in the picture on my listing. However, during the dry season, water levels may be low.
