RARELY AVAILABLE Tranquil Village in area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by Fells and Countryside. A romantic retreat, base for walking or just to get away from it all. Romantic accommodation, sandstone,beams,modern appliances, WiFi and wood burner. Open plan living overlooking the orchard, fields and fells beyond. Spiral staircase (Steep/Narrow) leads from the kitchen area on ground floor to the open plan living area. Separate shower room and toilet. No smoking. No animals The space Rarely available. So you can be assured of luxury and attention to detail. Would you like the woodburner lit for your arrival !! A welcome pack awaits you so that you can enjoy a nice cuppa after your journey (Tea, coffee, milk and truly free range eggs). Self contained annex to the house, yours to enjoy fully during your stay. A red sandstone porch houses washer dryer, boot and coat rack and gives access to the cottage over the limestone flooring. This leads directly into the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has fridge freezer, dishwasher, solar hob, electric oven. The high quality utensils and crockery will be prepared for your arrival to complement the handmade units and worktops. Toaster, kettle and an assortment of cooking implements complete the kitchen area which sits alongside the pine table and chairs. The spiral staircase (NARROW/STEEP) NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES takes you up to the open plan first floor where you will find the living and bedroom area/shower room/toilet. The living area has fantastic views to the open countryside and fells to the rear. Comfortable wing back chairs and footstool sit ontop of the solid oak flooring in front of the woodburning stove and Smart 48 inch TV. A selection of local area walking books, autobiographies and novels are on the bookshelf for those warm evenings in front of the fire (Basket of wood provided). The bedroom area sits behind with silver metal double bed, spring and memory foam mattress and quality bedding. A choice of duvet togs is available as well as natural fibre or duck down pillows. Creative storage, mood lighting and fantastic views of the countryside completes the bedroom. The stars at night are amazing or pull down the black out blinds for complete darkness while you listen to the owls in the garden and drift off to sleep. A separate shower room completes the first floor with Mira air blast shower, heated and lit mirror above the white porcelain sink and vanity unit with seperate dual flush lavatory sitting on the white washed pine flooring. Outside access to the garden which overlooks the countryside and wooded area to the rear and the fells to one side. Garden table and chairs are provided so that you can enjoy relaxing in the open air with your coffee or wine whilst watching the abundance of wildlife that frequents the garden and adjoining fields and wooded area. With minimum light pollution and a clear night you will be amazed at the stars above (If you're not afraid of the dark). The accomodation is situated in the stunning village of Murton, an isolated village adjoining The North Pennines, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. One of the most remote and unspoilt places in England, it lies between the National Parks of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and Northumberland with the urban centres of County Durham away to the east. The location of the accomodation makes it an ideal base for your visit to the hidden delights of The Eden Valley or wider areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or World Heritage Sites. Walking, road cycling or mountain biking from the doorstep is a delight, Murton Pike and High Cup Nick within minutes. Local amenities and supplies can be obtained from nearby Appleby in Westmorland (3 miles by car) Parking off road is available for one car, directly outside the accomodation. Secure storage for cycles if required is available (prior arrangement required). The accommodation keeps the environment in mind and utilises air source greener energy for heating and hot water with that all important wood burning stove and locally sourced seasoned wood. Solar panels and battery storage reduce the environmental impact further. 2 adult stay - NOT suitable for additional or young children/infants. NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES - NARROW AND STEEP SPIRAL STAIRCASE. NO ANIMALS/PETS. NO SMOKING There is a private orchard to the rear of the cottage garden which houses chickens and at the farthest end, away from the property several bee hives producing local fresh honey. Guest access WiFi provided free. 31 mbps usual speed. SMART TV. Note narrow spiral staircase to first floor, not suitable for small children or persons with mobility issues. Max 2 person stay (1 bed) - NOT suitable for additional or young children/infants - sorry. No smoking, no pets. There are no shops and no public house. There are numerous pubs and restaurants in neighbouring towns and villages. Phone signal is limited in the village, internet is provided for free. Ideal if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern day living, to unwind and recharge the batteries ! 2 adult stay - NOT suitable for additional or young children/infants.
