Darlene’s Country Cottage is a 3 1/2 bedroom, air-conditioned rustic cottage nestled on a country road in Blackville in the Miramichi Region of New Brunswick. NEW: We have high-speed cable internet, and Rogers cable TV at the cottage. Our drinking water is from a private well and it is safe and delicious. No need to buy water. This cottage rental is perfect if you’re looking for a vacation place that feels like home. Families, fishermen, tubers, long stays and one-nighters are welcome! The space This is a rustic vacation spot, in a turn of the century building. As you can see from the photos, there are barn boards on some of the walls, and original hardwood floors. So if you're style is sleek and modern, keep that in mind. The cottage can be rented by the night, week or month. There are 3 bedrooms (see photos) and a single bed in an open nook (sleeps 7). Pricing is for 2 guests + $15 each additional person. There is a large eat-in kitchen with stove, dishwasher and all dishes, linens & utensils provided. Games, puzzles and extra blankets are provided. There is a lot of history in this building which started out as a general store in the early 1900’s and later became a Tea House. The main living space features original hardwood floors and walls from this time period. The walls received a coat of white paint in 2022 to brighten up the original dark wood. The bedrooms are in a new addition to the building and are finished with reclaimed barn boards and flooring which lend to the rustic charm of this cottage. The tap water is from a private well and is safe and delicious to drink. NEW: Updated WIFI as of Sept. 2024. A new service provider has come to our rural area and we are pleased to offer high-speed cable internet, and Rogers cable TV at the cottage. Guest access You have access to the entire cottage. Other things to note This cottage rental is perfect if you’re looking for a vacation place to stay that feels like home. It is a quiet location for people working in the area and needing comfortable accommodations. Also makes a great place for hunters or fishermen wanting to rent a cabin for the weekend. Gather your friends together for a girls get-away weekend, or an artist's retreat or writer's retreat.
