Description

Cromdale Station includes a 3 bedroom house (the old railway station house) and a 2 bedroom converted railway carriage on the side of the old railway line which is now the Speyside Way. In addition, there is an art studio in the 'station master's shed' and a summer house with a table football in the garden which guests are also welcome to use. There is a ping pong table outside. The space This listing is for a converted railway station house (built in 1863) which also has a train carriage converted into a camping coach. It has been renovated and recently refurbished for a comfortable and memorable stay for all the family (the house/ camping coach can also be booked separately: see my other links). The house was the original Cromdale train station which has been renovated into a 3 bedroom house. The line was closed to passengers in 1965 (distillery line closed in 1968) and the track is now a popular walking route (The Speyside Way). The old ticket office is now the kitchen, the waiting room is the lounge, the station master's bedroom is the master bedroom, and the lamp room now contains a triple bunk which is most suitable for children (top bunks suitable for 6+). Please note, there is no option for a triple bunk on the airbnb system, therefore the listing shows a two bed bunk plus single. There is a newly refurbished ensuite bathroom and a separate shower room. The dining table in the house seats max 8 and the living room comfortably seats 5. We also have an art studio and a summer house (or 'sitooterie') in the garden which contains a table football and garden sports/ games items. There is also a bbq which is stored next to the store room (must be moved away from buildings and trees before use). The camping coach contains two bedrooms (one bunk and one double) and a newly refurbished shower room. Through a separate entrance is the 'guard's van' which is now a living/ kitchen area containing a dining table, seating, hob, kettle. toaster, microwave, TV, a selection of board games and books, and a gas heater. There are also electric radiators in all the rooms. At the back of the coach is an enclosed garden containing a picnic table, small trampoline and rowing machine. There is also a table tennis table under the car port. If you would like any further information about the accommodation please enquire. Guest access If you book the house and carriage together, you can use both gardens as well as the platform area, the art studio and summer house. Other things to note Please contact us for a discount if you would like to stay for 2 weeks or longer. Please note the bunk bed in the house is a triple bunk rather than a bunk and a single (airbnb has no option for a triple bunk so had to choose this to show 3 beds in the one room). The top bunk in the house is very high. It is advised that children aged under 6 should only use the lower bunk. Adults may prefer the bottom bunk which has a mattress topper. Please note the bunks are not suitable for people weighing 18 stone or more, according to the manufacturer's instructions. We do not consider the accommodation suitable for those with mobility issues. Be aware that there is a drop to the platform to path below. Young children should not be left unsupervised and bicycles, scooters etc. should not be used along the platform in case of falls. For safety reasons, children should also not be left unsupervised in the art studio or games room. Also take extra care around the platform and grounds in winter when it may be icy and slippy. The owners accept no liability for any injuries or loss incurred on the grounds of the property. Please also note, we are in a rural area of the Highlands and cannot guarantee fast Wi-Fi speeds or the capacity to cope with multiple devices. Dogs are allowed, but please a maximum of 2 in house and 1 in carriage. Please keep dogs off furnishings and out of bedrooms and bathrooms and do not leave unattended. Please note electric car charging from the property is strictly prohibited as is a safety risk. Please use charging stations in local area (can be found in Grantown). If guests violate this rule, they will be instructed to depart and an extra £100 charge will be applied. Climbing on to the roof of the carriage is also strictly prohibited. Guests will also be charged an extra £100 and asked to leave if this rule is violated. Latest EPC rating = F. This should have improved recently as we have had a new boiler and increased loft insulation. STL Licence number: HI-70673-F
