Riverside Cottage - 400 year-old Welsh cottage located beside a small river in a beautiful secluded valley in the Brecon Beacons National Park nr. Pen y Fan & Black Mountains Low beams, stone walls and a wood burning stove make for loads of character. A truly peaceful space, good for walking, cycling or just escaping for a while...... No additional charges (firewood/cleaning included) Riverside Cottage is 200m from our other listing, Y Bwthyn - available on Airbnb (search Llangynidr UK) The space A 400 year old Welsh cottage alongside pretty stream in secluded valley. The cottage situated next to a country lane and forms part of a small hamlet with two other cottages and an old Chapel. The ground floor has a comfortable lounge, (inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove, TV, DVD ), a kitchen (gas hob, 4 function oven, fridge, coffee maker, etc.) utility room (washing machine, iron and ironing board), conservatory overlooking the river, downstairs loo. Spiral stone stairs go up behind the chimney to large bedroom with oak beams, king size bed and ensuite bathroom (bath with a hand-held shower). Outside is there is off-road parking, space to sit by the river, walks from the door and 500 square miles of National Park with mountains, woodland, rivers and valleys! Riverside Cottage is located 3 miles from the nearest village along a narrow singletrack lane with few passing places. If you meet oncoming traffic you may need to reverse! Self catering, and strictly non-smoking. Guest access Guests have use of whole of cottage which has two entrances. There is a private outdoor area alongside the river with seating and table. Other things to note The cottage is Self Catering - we supply firewood, hot water, bedding, towels, hand wash, loo rolls, culinary condiments. (It is a long way from any shops so come prepared...) Cottage has low beams and doorways and access to bedroom is via spiral stone staircase - so probably not suitable for tall folk or those with mobility issues. .....please be aware..... ~ The area is distinctly agricultural, with plenty of sheep (and lambs in the Spring), hence no dogs..... ~ There is no mobile/cell service except through Wifi and as the Broadband service is outside of our control, we are unable to guarantee availability or speed of connection. ~ Strictly no smoking in the cottage please. ~ The cottage is 3 miles along a narrow single track lane - please drive slowly and be prepared to reverse if you meet oncoming traffic
