Description
A listed 16th century chocolate box building in the centre of medieval Shrewsbury. Its wood panelled walls and ancient beams transport you to a bygone time, and the cosy woodburner invites you to drift off to a time when life was simple and cares were few. The cobbled street view from the living room window has only the churchyard opposite, and the original cast iron range is in the kitchen! Sunny courtyard, no stairs and walking distance from all that Shrewsbury has to offer... just perfect! The space Wesley House is steeped in history! The Rev. John Wesley A.M. founder of the Methodist Church preached from here in 1761. Over time the house had fallen into disrepair but thankfully the original features i.e. the cobbling of the walkway into the kitchen, and the jetty and window frame of the original timber framed house, remained intact. The restoration was completed with the guidance from the conservation officer, and was officially opened by the Mayor of Shrewsbury and the Town Crier in October 2019. Important note...The single 3rd bedroom is for a child and has a victorian bed which is shorter than a standard single bed. Not suitable for anyone taller than 5 foot 2 inches.
