Well appointed guest bedroom on the main floor in our pet & smoke free home with separate entrance. Own bathroom attached. Fridge, kettle, dishes and cutlery tucked in a nook in your room. Desk/table Wifi. Walk to downtown, shopping, Byward Market, Rideau & Shaw Centres, Sparks & Elgin Sts, Parliament Hill, Canal, Canada Day, Tulip, Blues, Jazz & Poutine Fests, Pride Week, Ottawa Race and Ottawa U, Museums, walking & biking trails. Almost all embassies, OAG, downtown Ottawa. Ideal location! The space Well-appointed guest room with overhead fan, situated on the main floor overlooking a private, beautiful, backyard, and summertime garden. In-room table top fridge, Bodem French coffee press, kettle, desk, and chairs. Freedom to eat at your desk in your own time, space, and privacy. This is a summertime only guest room, so you are encouraged to please use the backyard tables, table cloth and chairs, the umbrella, or the hammock for quiet morning breakfasts, lazy days or relaxing evenings. We curtain off the hallway from bedroom to bathroom for your added privacy. Parking is based on availability, only at $10/night. Two free bicycles with helmets are available to be borrowed - on a 1st come basis - use at your own discretion (risk). Guest access Separate entrance with your own, unique access code. Separate, newly renovated bathroom with lockable door for your use only just beside your bedroom. We curtain off the hallway for additional privacy. Our common space is the back porch, back yard, back yard furniture, lawn, and garden. During your stay Flexible. As you wish. Other things to note *Minimum 2 nights stay. We charge per person for an allowable maximum of 2 persons in this room. There is no cot or sofa/sofabed in the room. Any additional guest not paid for at booking is a violation of the house rules which triggers an immediate cancelation of the contract with no refund. Visitors in this space will be considered to be overnight guests subject to an additional guest fee. PARKING: Free on the street at 3-hour intervals daytime from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Reserved parking in our shared driveway is at $10/night for a maximum of $50/stay, based on availability. 2 free guest bicycles with helmets. Borrow at your own discretion/risk. COMMON AREAS: Shared back yard and garden, tables and chairs, covered porch. Visiting friends and family are welcome in the common areas only. Our STR permit and insurance do not allow us to entertain unpaid visitors in this space. Please take the time to slowly turn the door handles and gently close your bedroom and bathroom doors. We extend the same courtesy on our side within and outside of the quiet time of 10:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m. BEHIND THE CURTAIN: The curtain gives added privacy and dignity as you dash from bedroom to bathroom, and as we access our bedroom and hallway closets. It does NOT give either of us added security. Please lock/shut your bedroom and bathroom doors for your sense of security. Also, it has taken us years to realize how much sound travels in this space and how much considerstion is required from all parties.
