Cottage with large garden in Chartreuse Alps

Chalet completed by a 2010 wooden extension, in the heart of the Chartreuse alpine massif, with a 2500 m2 garden. Families and hikers to... The space The accommodation consists of a small vacation chalet to which we added a wooden extension with a terrace roof in 2010 and a terrace overlooking the garden. Located opposite the Chartreuse massif, in the regional nature park of the same name, it is located at an altitude of 650 m in a village of 1500 inhabitants with local services and shops (grocery store, bakery, hairdresser, garage, etc.). The view is unobstructed on the Chartreuse and the chalet has many bay windows overlooking the garden and the terrace. We lived in this house with young children, so we kept many board games and games for the little ones as well as equipment for babies (changing mat, hiking backpack, bathtub, travel cot and adapted mattress in addition to the beds already described, booster seat for eating, potty). For older children, a trampoline allows you to enjoy the outdoors, a foosball table is installed on the top floor of the chalet; a slide and swings are also installed in the garden. The heating is electric but two stoves provide good heat to both parts of the house in winter. Guests have access to the entire property, excluding a room on the top floor of the chalet where we store our personal belongings. The extension includes living rooms: - large glass hall overlooking the terrace - large living room - dining room communicating with a kitchen. - one bedroom with its integrated bathroom completes this part of the ground floor (bedroom 1) - a separate toilet The older chalet includes: - on level -0.5 overlooking the garden: a bedroom with 140 cm bed and an adjoining dressing room (bedroom 4). - on level 0: a bathroom with bathtub, washing machine and dryer - on level 0.5: a games room also serving as a TV room with a 140 cm futon sofa bed and desk, overlooking the balcony - on level 1: 1 toilet, 2 small bedrooms, one with a single bed and mattress on the floor (bedroom 2), the other with two single beds (bedroom 3) - on level 1.5: an attic with foosball The garden is not enclosed and has 1 soccer cage, a gantry with slide and swings, as well as a trampoline. Three cars can park in a row in the driveway in front of the house. The Saint Pierre de Chartreuse ski resort is a 25-minute drive away. Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing can be done in Chartreuse (Saint Pierre de Chartreuse, Le Planolet for alpine skiing, Le Col de Porte, Saint Hugues and the Désert d'Entremont for Nordic skiing). The accommodation is quietly located at the end of a cul-de-sac. It is 700 m from the center of the village (10 min walk), where there is a multiservice grocery store (tobacco, postal service, newspapers, sale of local products, bread depot), bakery - tea room (closed until further notice), hairdresser, municipal library. A market is held in the church square every Friday, in which there is a very good cheese maker, meat from local producers, seasonal fruits and vegetables. The village has many hiking and mountain biking trails, including one that passes in front of the chalet and leads into the nearby forest. A campsite with bar/tea room and outdoor pool is 600 m from the chalet, at the edge of the forest. Tennis courts are 500 m from the chalet. Among the activities or visits to do in the area: Grande Chartreuse monastery, Cirque de St Même, Entremonts dairy cooperative (cheese factory), Aiguebelette lake, Rivièr'Alpes leisure center, ascent of the Charming Som, Herretang peat bogs, Chartreuse cellars, etc. The village is accessible mainly by car (in winter, it is better to provide snow tires or have chains to climb the last meters of the road). It is a 10-minute drive from the 2 main towns (with outdoor swimming pool areas in each) and 25 minutes from the St Pierre de Chartreuse ski resort. A bus connects twice a day between Voiron train station and the village church (800 m/12 min walk from the accommodation).
