Description

Meadow View, situated in Chapel Stile, is one of a row of traditional Lakeland slate cottages built in the 19th century for local workers families. The space It is cosy and is a well appointed, under new ownership with new beds and carpets for 2025 - new pictures to be updated shortly. Meadow View is laid out on three floors and provides accommodation for five people. Downstairs is the kitchen diner and a cosy lounge.  On the first floor are a twin and single bedroom and bathroom, and on the top floor is a double room, further WC and shower room and small  sitting area.  It is cosy and is a well appointed, under new ownership with new beds and carpets for 2025 - new pictures to be updated shortly.  A large cellar runs the full length of the house - ideal for drying wet clothes and boots. From the cellar, there is access to the rear of the house to the small, very pleasant garden which has views up the valley and of the surrounding hills. Change over day has changed to a Saturday and this is now a pet free property with hypoallergenic bedding. Summary: sleeps 5 3 storeys double, twin and a single bedroom first floor bathroom with shower over a bath, WC and hand basin separate shower room, WC and small  seating area all bed linen and towels provided separate kitchen diner with dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, 3 drawer freezer and tumble dryer located in the cellar large cellar for extra storage electric heating open fire free Wi-Fi and TV large lawned garden on-street parking nearby no smoking Guest access There is on-street parking to the front of the property and further parking available locally The heart of the village is just a short stroll away. In the village you can find the well stocked local convenience store -the Langdale Co-op, Brambles Cafe, and the welcoming village church - The Great Langdale Holy Trinity and Wainwrights Inn which sells local brewed ales and provides good homemade food. The famous climbers inn The Old Dungeon Ghyll, New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel and Stickle Barn Tavern (now owned by the National Trust) are just up the Langdale Valley. For those wishing to explore further afield, a bus stop is located at the end of the road.  Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure! Elterwater, the famous Britannia Inn, Slates Bistro and The welcoming Eltermere Inn for a touch of fine dining are a short stroll away, with a fabulous walk along the river. The cottage is also handily placed to access the Langdale Valley, four miles from Ambleside and close to the neighbouring villages of Grasmere and Hawkshead.
