Yurt in Blackawton

This beautiful yurt boasts stunning views over the rolling hills of South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This charming space, with double bed, wood burner, solar electricity and indoor kitchen has all you need for a basic yet cosy countryside break. Sleeps 2 comfortably (max 4). The Hot Tub is subject to availability and needs booking at an additional price (see "Other things to note" below. It has a wood burner, solar electricity (240v) and it is beautiful, peaceful and cosy. Drinking water is pumped by hand from our borehole and rainwater harvested for washing up. Full containers are supplied. The kitchen has everything you need including gas cooker with oven. A basket load of fuel for the burner is included, further wood can be bought (£15 per wheelbarrow full). Outside there is a sitting area and charcoal BBQ. There's a compost loo including men's urinal and an indoor shower (these facilities are shared with the other yurt). This is our off-grid lifestyle – simple, satisfying and easy on the earth… Being off-grid our electricity supply will not accommodate appliances that require a high power demand such as hair dryers, travel kettles and portable fridges. Please don't try to use such items. This yurt has a cool-box. (It works best if you bring ice.) Please keep to the paths in the long grass and be aware of our neighbour's boundaries. Other things to note A Wood Fired Hot Tub is available on request unless it's booked out already. It is situated by the stream in our beautiful secluded wooded valley (a 10 minute walk). The tub holds 8 person max. There is a fire-pit, fairy lights and a spring-fed stream. Due to the time required to fill and heat the hot tub we request at least 8 hours notice if you wish to use it. The cost for this unique experience is £90 per session. Sorry but no pets. We have vehicle parking close to the accommodation, however, our access track is sometimes bumpy. Should you prefer, you can park inside our entrance gate and walk up the hill (5-10mins).
