Description

My Ticino Rustico, renovated in 2023/2024, offers space for max. 6 people on 2 floors. A seating area with pergola, fireplace and a garden with palm trees and vines invite you to linger. The house is located in the quiet, idyllic and car-free village center of Avegno di fuori in the Maggia Valley, surrounded by traditional Ticino granite stone houses. Very close to the Maggia, there are many walking, hiking, biking and climbing routes and excellent grottos and restaurants. The space Apart from a bedroom on the upper floor, the Rustico offers large, open spaces. Thanks to the continuous window front with new windows on the upper floor overlooking Ticino stone roofs in the countryside, the upper floor is very bright and pleasantly cool at night in summer. Note: The window handles have an unusual direction of rotation - so be careful when opening, tilting and closing! The ground floor is equipped with an open retro kitchen with earthenware sink, including a new stove with oven and a new refrigerator. The cabinets have everything you need for cooking and baking, and you can comfortably sit at the round table to eat. There is no dishwasher. For climate protection reasons, I had the electric panels removed and a self-designed clay oven built. The instructions can be found on the shelf to the right of the oven. The bathroom has been newly renovated. It is decorated in an oriental style and offers storage space and a romantic ambience. On the 1st floor there is a Moroccan parlor with sofa, rocking chair and tea table. In the middle area there is a double bed (140 cm wide), which can be separated from the surroundings by curtains. All beds are equipped with new mattresses and pillows. At the back there is a lockable bedroom with two single beds. There is also a workplace there. In both rooms there is storage space and hanging facilities for clothes. The fresh bedding is available in the upper rooms. Since the choice of beds is free (4 sleeping places upstairs, 4 on the ground floor by the fireplace), it is up to the guests which beds they want to make for themselves. Additional blankets and pillows are in the chest in the back room. The total living space is about 100 m². The ecological clay oven is used for heating. In the upper, rear room, which is least reached by the cozy warmth of the wood-burning stove, there is a portable infrared wall. When it rains, there are many board games and reading material. Note: My local co-host always cleans the house reliably and carefully. However, since it is a very old, simple chalet, it may be that it has a small spider web or even ants somewhere. If you have trouble with this, my chalet may not be the best place for you. But if you appreciate the charm of simplicity, then I am happy to accommodate you in my refuge. Outdoor area: From the front door you can reach the pergola in two steps over the alley, which with its grape leaf roof offers a refreshingly cool spot, where you can enjoy beautiful evenings thanks to the outdoor fireplace with grill grate. From the pergola, a path with three steps leads to the garden with palm trees, rose bushes and vines, nestled between other old stone houses. If you prefer direct sun, you can sit there at a large table with chairs or rest on a lounger. You can find deck chairs and mats in the house at the foot of the stairs, where you can also find a shopping trolley. Parking is available at the entrance to the village, about 100 m from the house. Another parking option is located on the street, which branches off to the left of the roundabout at the entrance to the village, about 500 m away. Shopping is available in the shop at Camping Piccolo Paradiso (which also has a restaurant) or about 1 km further towards Locarno at Centro Punto Valle, where there is also a small restaurant, a gas station, the tourist office and a post office. The bus stop "Avegno Terra di fuori" is about 600 m away. There are bus connections up and down the valley every half hour. For children, I provide a travel bed, a high chair and an oval pool for bathing. About 400 m away there is a wonderful playground with lots of playground equipment. Also on the campsite there is a nice playground with a baby splash pool. Tips for bad weather: e.g. covered mini golf course in Quartino, or the Lido Locarno, the Solbad and the spa in Locarno. Locarno also offers a lot culturally Guest access The whole house. Other things to note The base price is calculated for 2 people. Additional guests pay CHF 34.00 per night. Bed, bath and kitchen linen is included for 2 people. For additional guests, you can bring your own linen or rent it from Margot for 15.00 CHF per person. Tourist taxes and ancillary costs are included. Wood for the clay oven or the fireplace can be bought in the shops at the campsite or at the Centro Punto Valle just before Avegno di fuori. A small amount of wood is available for a first fire. There is also an axe for chopping wood. Use of the oven, axe and all equipment is at your own risk. There is a carbon monoxide/smoke detector on the bottom shelf to the right of the stove. Please leave it there. Please dispose of the waste yourself. There is a disposal point at the lower roundabout (take the exit between the school bus stop and the fountain). Registration Details NL-00001391
