An ex-water mill originally built at the beginning of the 18th cent. On a large organic olive oil-producing estate in the rolling hills near Lake Trasimeno in central Italy (Umbria, Tuscany), Peaceful, immersed in nature, beautiful views, interesting area. The space Umbria - central Italy, near border with Tuscany, close to Lake Trasimeno, beautiful hamlets and historic towns such as Perugia, Assisi, Città della Pieve, Pienza and Cortona. Delightful, fully-equipped (includes internet connection), elegantly furnished and totally air conditioned cottage in a 18th-century recently-restored stone farmhouse in the hills, on a large agricultural estate (organic olive oil production). This independent, and very characteristic house with private terrace is called "Il Girasole", and it is on 2 floors: on the top floor there are a spacious double bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub/shower; on the ground floor there is a living room with double sofa bed and wood-burning stove, and fully-equipped wooden kitchenette decorated with hand-painted tiles. The apartment looks out onto a beautiful terracotta terrace equipped for eating outside and immersed in greenery. Il Girasole was built in 1703 and was originally a water mill. Infact, underneath the living room floor, protected by a glass panel, you can see the channel that used to feed the mill. There is a shared pool (there are a cottage and a villa in this complex) with a spacious terracotta terrace with large stone barbecue and outside shower, equipped for eating outside. In our property there are several trails for nature walks, jogging and trekking. We offer a fun Italian cooking lesson with dinner in our common room, held by a young local chef. The closest town (Tavernelle di Panicale) is 10 minutes away by car. Here you will find pizzerias, bakeries, supermarkets, shops, etc. There are delicious restaurants in the area serving typical Umbrian meals. The beaches and islands of Lake Trasimeno are 20 minutes away by car. In Tavernelle you will also find a tennis court and a great water park. Guest access Guests will have access to the pool and terrace surrounding the pool. This terrace is equipped with sunbeds, tables, umbrellas, an outsde shower and a barbecue. Also, the cottage looks out onto its own private terrace equipped for eating outside. Guests can walk and hike in our 130-hectare property and in the area. Other things to note POOLS ARE USUALLY OPEN from around the 15th of May/1st of June to around the 15th of September, according to weather conditions and number of bookings.
