Kelvinhaugh Cottage

Kelvinhaugh Cottage sits in the clachan, or hamlet, of Auchencairn, just outside the village of Whiting Bay. The cottage is at the end of the clachan on a quiet, paved, single track road, surrounded by fields. The cottage consists of a downstairs toilet and separate shower room, an open plan living room/dining room and kitchen. Upstairs is two twin rooms, while downstairs the front door opens out onto a large garden. There is an entrance porch for jackets/shoes at the back door. The space Our cottage is a lovely 200 year old original Arran farm cottage on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Whitingbay. The road running up to the cottage is off the main road (400m) , and is a dead end; a quiet, peaceful location for your stay. In keeping with the cottage style, we have two bedrooms upstairs, each with twin beds, and downstairs, open plan living, with an adjacent shower room and separate toilet. The cottage has a porch area with tiled floor for bikes, boot and jackets, which leads onto a parking area with space for two cars. The front door leads onto a large, fully enclosed garden, with outdoor seating/table. With the cottage being 200 years old, part of the charm is that it has low doorways, and steep stairs, so please bear this in mind when taking you or your group's needs into account. We, the owners, live nearby and are locals, on hand if anything is needed, one of us being a university lecturer, the other a recruitment manager. We look forward to welcoming you to Kelvinhaugh. During the summer our children will be playing in the garden, but we will ensure it is not too early in the morning. You are, of course, welcome to use the garden too and if you have children they are welcome to borrow any of the outdoor toys when supervised and at own risk.
