Gibbs House / Walk to the Beach

Your private suite is in my personal residence. I live here. It will take you between two and three minutes to walk to the Convention Center and it's a three minute walk to the beach. A theme park (The Pleasure Pier) is two miles away on the Galveston Seawall. Moody Gardens is about four miles away. A Kroger grocery store (with a Starbucks Coffee Shop) is a three minute walk from the house. Gibbs House is excellent for couples, business travelers, small families, and solo adventurers. The space Your private suite is in my personal residence. I live here. It's a lovely house in a quiet residential area close to the beach. It's an ideal place to get away from the frantic pace of the big city for a weekend and relax and refresh in a peaceful environment. There are two queen size beds as well as a comfortable living area with two recliners, two other comfortable chairs, a mini refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee machine. There is a desk for writing and study and a table with a view of the backyard. There is a television in the room with a DVD player attached and you can choose from a selection of DVD's if you want to watch a movie. The backyard has lawn chairs and a hammock as well as shade trees. Smoking is okay in the backyard. Guest access Your private room is a three minute walk from the beach and a two minute walk from the convention center. You can take a break and relax in privacy just minutes from the beach or your convention. The suite includes a private bathroom, a television and a DVD player, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and a small refrigerator. In addition to your private suite, you will also have access to common areas of the house which includes the kitchen, laundry room with washer and dryer, and a back yard (with lawn chairs and shade trees). During your stay I'm a lifetime resident of Galveston. My grandfather was born in Galveston in 1898 while my grandmother was born in Galveston in 1900. I'm in the process of putting together a special tour for guests interested in the history of Galveston. I will be happy to make recommendations on restaurants and other places of interest on our island as well as share some of the history of my family and of the island. Other things to note The San Luis Hotel is an eight to ten minute walk away. The Hilton is about a five minute walk while the Convention Center is a two minute walk away. The cruise terminal is about a ten minute ride from Gibbs House. Some guests like to arrive the day before their cruise so they can take it easy and not have to rush on the morning of their departure. If you would like to stay at Gibbs House the night before your departure, I am available to give you a ride to your cruise boat and pick you up at the dock when you return.
