Medieval village, 1 bedroom and private terrace

Apartment with private terrace. On the hillside in a charming medieval village near Pisa. The apartment is on one floor, with outside stairs leading up to the terrace and the entrance. One bedroom with a double bed. One bathroom. A sofa bed in the living room (small children). Separate kitchen. The apartment is in a villa with three other units. Free parking at the bottom of the village, 300 m downhill from the apartment. The road in this village is steep, not for the elderly or unfit people. The space In the garden you can pick lemons, figs, plums and herbs like rosemary and sage. Montemagno is the perfect base for hiking in beautiful nature, and day trips to beaches and famous Tuscan towns. Pisa airport/city/train station: 12-15 km. The uniqueness of Montemagno is that there are very few tourists and little traffic, an authentic medieval atmosphere. The location is at the same time near the coast/beaches, Pisa airport and train station as well as the famous cities as Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra. In the village there is a popular restaurant, Trattoria di Montemagno. There is also a bottega/cafè that offers drinks and food (also take-away). The bigger village Calci with supermarket, ice cream bar, coffee shops, restaurants and shops is only 2 km down the hill. To get there you may walk along the marked trails, use your car or take the public bus. On the way to Calci you may drop in at the vineyard Fattoria san Vito and taste some good wines and olive oil. We do recommend a visit to the Pisa Charterhouse (1,5 km down the road). It is a beautiful museum. Next door there is also a very interesting Natural History museum. Both are managed by the University of Pisa. Bus connection to Pisa city centre/train station (1 h) several times a day, except for Sundays and holidays. From Pisa you can take the train to Lucca (25 min), Florence (1 h) or the bus to the beach (20 min). Other things to note This village is on a steep hill and there are outdoor stairs. Do not come here unless you are fit and willing to walk. The price includes use of water, electricity, gas for kitchen, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and the final cleaning.
