Description
The cottage boasts a log burner and sunset facing balcony with fantastic views of the sea and the City of Plymouth. The interior is quirky and cosy, with lots of unique features such as a vaulted bedroom ceiling. The cottage is petite, set over 3 floors and built in the 18th century. We follow Airbnb enhanced cleaning. All high touch areas are cleaned and sanitised. We take pride in our cleanliness and provide extra cleaning supplies for guests during their stay. The space The cottage is set over three floors. You enter through the front door into the front room. The front room has a log burner and french doors open out to the balcony. There is a large TV with Netflix (sign in to your own acc) and the guest guide. Please read this as it contains information on the cottage and appliances. The front room also has a single folding guest bed in a cupboard (this does not fit folded out in any of the bedrooms). The balcony has a table with 4 chairs. Top floor has a steep staircase access, please mind your head! This opens up into the bedroom, containing a double bed and ample cupboard space. The ceiling is vaulted and shows exposed beams. The window looks out towards the marina and across Plymouth. You can also see the famous Plymouth Hoe and Smeatons lighthouse. Off the bedroom is a large ensuite bathroom with kidney shaped bath and shower over the bath, also sink and toilet. The lower ground floor is accessed via a steep sharp bend staircase. Please take care and mind your head! This opens up into a large country rustic style kitchen with dining nook, double gas range and belfast sink. The flooring is old reclaimed flagstone (please mind the step). The door from the kitchen leads to a single ensuite bedroom with access to the small gravel garden with washing line. The ensuite has a rainfall shower, sink and toilet. The cottage was built around 1830 and had kept its old charm, quaint feel and irregular room shapes. The cottage sits on the south west coastal path and main village through road (please take care stepping out the front door). The hill the cottage is built on is quite steep but gives amazing views once you get to the top! This cottage is ideal for two plus two (i.e. small family). Please ask if unsure! Parking is available in two free village car parks, one within 100 meters of the cottage. The cottage is not suitable for people with decreased mobility and children of crawling/toddling age due to steep stairs and wood/stone floors. There is parking within 50 yards approx, in a free car park. There is also another free car park 200 yards approx at the other end of the village. I have put a map in my photos. Guest access Guests have the whole cottage apart from the loft/ mezzanine floor. Strictly no access to the loft/ mezzanine. Parking is free in two carparks located at the top and bottom of the village. Access to the village is narrow and via a steep hill. This village is old and built before cars! Public transport links to Plymouth via the Mountbatten water taxi (15 min walk away) and the bus located just past the top car park . Other things to note Dogs are welcome. 2 dogs maximum. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds. Do not leave your dogs alone in the property thank you. Regrettably cats are not allowed. No smoking! Property is on a steep narrow hill. The road is narrow and may not fit larger vehicles. The two car parks are free and can get busy. The single folding guest is only able to be put up in the front bedroom. The property is open plan, and only has a door on the single bedroom. The stairs are steep and has tight bend. please use the handrail! NOT suitable for people with decreased mobility. We provide one basket of logs and a starter kit for the log burner. Logs are available at the nearest garage or shop. We do not allow BBQS at the cottage.
