We are friendly, experienced, Superhosts who will make your stay in Syracuse enjoyable! There is a full kitchen located in apartment. It includes coffee maker, microwave, blender, stove with oven. There are pots and pans for cooking and baking. There is plenty of cupboard and counter space. It is easy to prepare meals or reheat tasty leftovers from Westcott Street restaurants just around the corner. The apartment is on the third floor. Access is from a wide and well-lit stairway. Guests have a locked outside door, and locked entrance door to their apartment. The open concept living room and dining room are spacious and have picture windows making the Arts & Crafts Apartment very bright and cheery. There is a roll-top desk for studying. In the living room you will find bookcases filled with a wide variety of reading material. We have excellent wifi. Guests can enjoy hundreds of channels on cable television. You will find it restful to sit in the rocking chair beside the big picture window and watch squirrels jumping through the trees. We enjoy getting acquainted and hearing about our guests' travel adventures if they are inclined to visit. The apartment is completely private so interaction is at your discretion. Syracuse has many local cultural events. Some guests have joined us at festivals and club venues, and even a few family activities. From the Arts & Crafts Apartment you can find most everything you need within walking distance. We are located in the heart of the "Westcott Nation," a vibrant neighborhood on the edge of the Syracuse University campus. Residents happily celebrates cultural diversity in art, music and lifestyles. People in the neighborhood are helpful and friendly. You will enjoy quirky shops and several wonderful cafes that are just around the corner from the Arts & Crafts Apartment. Bus stops are one block away. You can get downtown in about 10 minutes by bus. There is also a bus, a block away, that runs throughout Syracuse University. Take taxi/Lyft to the the airport, or the train. Hancock International Airport is only 15 minutes away. If we are available, we will be happy to pick up our guests or take you to your departing connection. Lots of on street parking; usually right in front of the house. Watch the parking rules because they do give tickets for parking on the wrong side of the street. Parking is on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd numbered days, and on the even side on even days. Cars need to be moved to fit the rule at 6 PM. Traffic Signs in front of your apartment will remind you. Our immediate University Neighborhood is safe. Guests appreciate the short walk for meals at restaurants around the corner on Westcott Street. However, we advise against walking through the park at night. VERY IMPORTANT: If you are traveling from a warm climate to Syracuse in winter, be sure to bring extra sweaters, a heavy coat, and warm boots! If this trip is a first-time winter experience for you, please tell us. We will be happy to advise you about what you will need to be able to enjoy it! There are even several stores with vintage and gently-used winter clothes that we can suggest so you can avoid the expense of a winter wardrobe you only need for a short time. STAIRS:Consider how comfortable you are walking up stairs. The Arts and Crafts Apartment is on the 3rd floor. There are also steps from the sidewalk up to the house. It is a great way to stay in shape! The view is awesome! NOISE: While this is a quieter apartment than many in the University area, please remember you are in a Victorian era, 3 family home.
