Cwt Glo is a cosy and peaceful cottage for two in Northern Snowdonia nestled between two mountain ranges the Carneddau and Glyderau. Cwt Glo is situated in a small village near Bethesda called Mynydd Llandygai. There is private off road parking next to the cottage. Cwt Glo is Welsh for Coal house and the cottage was the place where the coal was weighed and measured. The property has been both a farm and coal yard for the local area. Cwt Glo is a semi sustainable/off grid cottage it has a solar and wind system however there is the backup of mains electricity. There is also an LPG central heating and hot water system. The cottage has a wood burning stove to keep you cosy and warm in the evening after a busy day exploring the local area. We also provide the wood for your stay. The space The cottage has it's own private entrance and parking. Character kitchen with wooden beams and quarry tiles. Everything you need for cooking is provided including fridge freezer, gas oven and hob, toaster and dining table. It is fully equipped with cooking equipment and utensils. Living room includes a local heritage slate fireplace and log burner, settee and armchair. We provide all the logs and kindling for your stay. This is included in the price of the cottage. Bedroom is a beautiful Welsh mezzanine crog loft with double bed. Please note the bedroom has low ceilings with access via wooden stairs. Bathrooms. There is a large shower/wet room perfect for a hot shower after a mountain walk. There is a separate toilet and sink room this room has cold water only. A storage room with clothes rack and hangers. Perfect if you need to store shoes, suitcases or have coats. Cottage garden and decking area with table and chairs perfect for watching the mountains changing colour at sunset. Or to star gaze! We are lucky that we have such amazing views of the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain range from Cwt Glo. Obviously weather dependent as we are nearly a 100ft above sea level. We garden organically so using no pesticides and being aware of hibernating insects so we clear and tidy in spring. There is private off road parking for the cottage. Please do not smoke inside the cottage. Guest access Cwt Glo is a separate building to our home and you will have your own off road parking bay and private entrance. We are around if you need any help or have any queries. We have carefully renovated the barn so that it retains all of the rustic charm of a traditional Welsh Quarryman's cottage. You'll find a fully equipped kitchen and dining room and everything you need to cook after a busy day in the mountains or on the beach. The living room is super cosy with an original slate fire place and log burner. Other things to note There are parts of our house and land that we are in the process of renovating. This will not impact on you and your stay but there maybe evidence of building work. The doorways are low, as are the ceilings upstairs so watch your head. The bedroom is a crog loft with low ceilings with access via wooden stairs. There is hot water in the cottage kitchen and shower. There is only cold water in the toilet room.
