Private Spacious Bell Tent in an abandoned Village

Our Spacious Bell Tent offers a unique way to experience the hidden beauty of the Lefkada Island. Located on a secluded plot, right above a secret river canyon, it offers pleasing views and an aura of tranquility. A 9 km drive through the old olive groves, will take you to the famous windsurf spot Vassiliki Bay, which offers plenty of tourist attractions and the nearest sunny beaches. "Agiofili", "Amousso" or "Porto Katsiki" being some of the most beautiful and famous destinations on the island. The space "Roupakias" used to be a small greek village with about thirty families. It has been abandoned since the 1970-ies, during times when a comfortable survival was more important then the romantic ideas of finding a paradise in the wild. Three years ago, in the summer of 2016, my partner and I purchased a small 1400m2 area of connected patches, with the intention of creating a home and something unique for our guests, friends and family. At the moment we are the only inhabitants of this village together with our adopted dog Rudy and his best pal Criket the cat. Although we live off-grid, we always had a vision of the possibility of combining living in nature with modern solutions and a degree of comfort. We of course have a dry eco toilet, outdoor shower, running spring water, gas and solar electricity. These common areas are shared between us and the visitors. Breakfast is served at our "Under the FigTree" dining area. There is parking along the street, which passes through the village. Registration Details 00002229316
