Little double room.

We have a family house seated at the foot of Catbells in the heart of the Borrowdale Valley. Quiet village location and beautiful walks straight from the door step. Our rooms are priced in line with the youth hostels in the valley and are considerably less expensive than other accommodation. Our non-provision of towels forms part of our effort to keep prices as low as possible. The space A small, but comfortable room with sloped ceiling over the bed which has an electric blanket. The room is equipped with Sky TV. Please note that the bed is accessible from only one side and the limited view is across tree tops. Our location is perfect for anyone wanting a quiet base with immediate access to walks from the door. Guests are invited into our home where they have use of a shared bathroom. Guests can access the kitchen for tea/coffee and the garden if the weather is good. At an additional cost of £5 per person we provide breakfast of cereals, eggs, toast and preserves each morning from 8.30 to 9am. Please note that cooking of other meals in the kitchen is not possible. As we live here too our guests will undoubtedly see us around, we are happy to chat and assist in any way to make their stay pleasant and comfortable but we are mindful that guests will want to spend their time peacefully together. To this end the rooms are equipped with sky tv. The neighbourhood is quiet but friendly. There are frequently a lot of tourists and walkers in the village and there are two nice cafes within half a mile (please note that both of these cafes close at around 5.30 in the afternoon). Public transport is the local bus service with buses running to the nearest town (Keswick) hourly in the summer season (less frequently during the winter months). We have two very friendly, passive dogs and with this in mind, those who don't like dogs may prefer to look elsewhere for an animal-free house. Guest access Bedroom and shared bathroom. Guest breakfast is available at an additional cost. During your stay As this is it family home it is inevitable that guests will see us, and we are happy to chat and discuss interesting places to walk or visit. However, we are mindful that guests usually want to enjoy time alone together and so we try to respect this during the day and evening. To this end the room is equipped with tv so that guests can relax in their own space. Other things to note Due to work commitments, arrival time between 4.30 - 6.30pm unless by prior arrangement. We have two friendly dogs who can be excited on the first meeting (but quickly settle). Please be aware that the bathroom is shared. Please note that we do NOT provide towels or toiletries such as shampoo. We do provide soap for handwashing and toilet paper.
