The space Here in Lasithi Platuea you will find Green House, a nice, comfortable fully refurnished traditional Cretan house with view to the mountain and access to beautiful yard. The accommodation comprises, an open plan living/ dining area with fitted kitchen(kitchen, fully furnished cupboards, a sink and a fridge with a freezer), a table with five chairs, a sofa bed and a wood stove(suitable both for heating and grilling),a TV set and a DVD player .The other room is a bedroom fully furnished with a double bed and a cozy bathroom. The second bedroom is in the upper floor with two single beds, a small bathroom and a big closet. Outside of the house there is plenty of space for your car, an orchard with lots of species of trees and a yard with beautiful flowers. Transportation to Lasithi Plateaue You can rent a car when you will arrive in airport or port to Heraklion(the easiest way to explore the Plateau area and I recommended) or you can take the local bus near the port of Heraklion to Lasithi Plateau(there are no frequent bus services). Also Transportation by taxi can be arranged with a discount from the airport or the port of Heraklion or from any other location in Crete. Also we could give you offers to come and get you from the airport or give you a tour to the beautiful sightseeing’s around the village by car. We can help you for all of them when you arrived . Activities you can do in the area Dikteon Andron, the cave where Zeus was born, is located here, but have shoes with a good grip with you, as the stairs leading down to the cave are quite slippery. There are many small villages on the plateau which maintain their traditional character. Don't hesitate to come out of your car and walk along the little streets. You will be rewarded with nostalgic sights of windmill in Lassithi plateauauthentic farm living. In Plati , you can find traditional taverns and traditional cafes. Also you can visit the little shops with Greek traditional products and ceramics which are located in the village. Exiting the Lassithi Plateau and heading towards Heraklion, there's an area just before the village of Kera where 24 stone flour mills dating back to the 1800s once stood. They operated until the end of WWII, but today most are in various stages of ruin, with only three restored so far. Just beyond this area is the Kera Monastery, famous for its beautiful frescoes. Anyway, they're both worth a look-see if you have the time. You can enjoy the privacy of home and read a book or have fun with your family/friends outside in the colorful yard. Explore the area by hiking or cycling. The Cretan Folk and neoclassical museum alongside the church and museum of Eleftherios Venizelos, compose a unique cultural landscape, where this confused with the past Drive to the sea and the famous tourist resort Malia (35’ min) or to other nearby seaside locations.
