The Magic Hut with view of Eilean Donan Castle

The Magic Hut, a cosy and unique getaway for the nature-loving eco-traveller looking for something cute and quirky. On a southwest facing hillside with stunning views of Loch Duich, Loch Alsh and Eilean Donan castle, nestled in a birch and hazel woodland. Within walking distance of the village of Dornie which has places to eat and drink, a local shop and of course the castle, on the road to Skye. Great if you enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Scottish Highlands. The space The Magic Hut is a fairytale woodland getaway where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the birch wood, the birdsong, the starry skies on a clear winter night, the lit up castle at night. Spectacular views, perfect for a romantic wee escape. Having come from an idea on the back of an envelope it has developed into a lush little space nestled in the trees. Lovingly created and deliciously decorated with the perfect contrast between the natural and the industrial. Guest access Guests can park just outside The Magic Hut. There's enough space for 2 cars. Other things to note The Magic Hut has no shower and has a compost toilet which is extremely lovely to use and has amazing views of the woodland and loch! We enjoy hosting guests who see this as a bonus or are at least open to loving the experience of it. We look for people who appreciate nature and sustainability. There's plenty firewood supply for a cosy evening, extra wood is supplied in the colder months to give the ability to restart the fire in the morning too. Pushka, the cat, is our pet and loves people but please don't let her in the Hut because she might get locked in there as she likes hiding in tucked away places!! equally we would ask if you could refrain from bringing pets as she's not so friendly with other animals. Like I said, our loo is a compost loo and if you haven't used one before, don't worry, it's easy and we'll explain how! The loo has a small sink with running water where one can wash their face, teeth, hands and do a "pigeon wash" as they say as there is no shower or bath facilities. But if you'd like a shower, don't worry! only 10 miles away on the way to the isle of Skye (Kyle of Lochalsh) there are some very clean and good working public showers for a cost of 50p entry and £3 for a 5 minute hot shower! ;) (Please check opening times as it changes throughout the year) The water is our own supply, highland water straight from source! We filter it ourselves and has been tested and is perfect for drinking, one of our best assets! ❤ Last but not least you will not need a key for the Magic Hut as it's a very safe location, it's part of the Magic!
