Other things to note You will need to take the ferry from Gallanach Road, about 2 miles outside of Oban. Check out the Calmac website for the timetable. In summer they run a very regular service every half hour, slightly less so in winter. There are no ferries between 12:30pm and 2pm and the last scheduled ferry is 6pm. You can arrange a 7pm boat by contacting Calmac. You must book your ferry tickets in advance from the Calmac website. Information on how to do this will be sent to you when you book. The cost is £3.40 for a return ticket. It’s a short ferry ride taking about 5 minutes in total. The island has an islanders car only policy due to the nature of our roads (you will understand once you have seen them!) so you will need to leave your car in the free car park at the ferry slip on Gallanach Road.
