Discover the beauty of North Devon while staying at our characterful cottage, dating back to the 17th century. With countryside views, quiet village location and 3 acres of private field and woodland that you're welcome to use - perfect for morning walks or for children to go exploring. Tarka Pottery is our onsite pottery experience studio, discount for guests - throw a pot using a potters wheel, paint pottery or get creative with hand building in clay. Booking is required. The space Take a stroll down through your meadow to our small woodland, orchard or relax in the garden. Walk, hike or cycle the Tarka Trail, visit RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal, sandy beaches, Dartmoor and Exmoor - all within 5 minutes to an hour's drive. THE SPACE Glebe Farm Cottage is dog-friendly and has two bedrooms overlooking the scenic landscape in picturesque North Devon. Originally part of Glebe Farmhouse, it is full of character and history and provides accommodation for up to 4 guests. Fully centrally heated and double glazed to provide you with all the comforts of home, including wi-fi. INSIDE: Kitchen/diner Electric cooker, fridge/freezer, washer, microwave, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, table and chairs for 4. Lovely stable door to let in the morning sunshine. A stone step takes you down into the lounge area where you will find all you will need for a comfortable stay. Lounge Delightful slate flooring, Freeview TV, and a wood-burning stove inside the old stone fireplace where crackling timbers will warm you on even the coolest evenings once you return from your day on the beach, cycling the Tarka Trail or being creative at Tarka Pottery. We provide a basket of logs to get you started. Two double-sized bedrooms Stairs lead up to the bedrooms. Duvets and bed linen are provided. One bedroom has a double bed with a wardrobe and dresser and a view of the quaint, quiet lane leading into the centre of Little Torrington. The twin bedroom is fitted with a wardrobe, cupboards and a lovely view across to Exmoor. Bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and WC. All towels provided. OUTSIDE: Private off-road parking for 2 cars. A pretty grassy walkway leads to a secluded lawned area with a bench table. The views are stunning from this area across our meadow and over farmland to Exmoor in the distance. You can walk down through the meadow into our woodland, which was planted in 2008 with native British trees. Outside the lounge is a relaxing patio area with a table and 4 chairs, perfect for an outside breakfast or coffee. We provide a couple of comfy loungers and camping chairs, which you're welcome to use during your stay. THE LOCAL AREA - things to do while you’re here... Walking, hiking and cycling the Tarka Trail. Tarka Pottery (look us up!) - spend a couple of hours, or a day or 2 in the studio, throw a pot on a wheel, paint pottery, or get creative hand building with clay at our onsite pottery studio - the #1 attraction in Great Torrington on Trip Adviser! Visit the renowned RHS Rosemoor Gardens - a few minutes' drive. With a range of activities and events taking place all year round, it's a fabulous place to visit for adults and children. Enjoy the seasonal changes in the gardens. Dartington Crystal - down the road in Great Torrington - try your hand at glass blowing at the visitor attraction centre. Enjoy a Devon Cream Tea - we know of a couple of hidden gems of tea rooms we can recommend for you to enjoy during your stay. Beaches - Westward Ho! with its pebble ridge beach, dog-friendly Instow Beach, award-winning Woolacombe and watersports haven Croye. Pretty villages to visit – Instow and Appledore are both worth dropping by. Explore Bideford High Street and its riverfront. Walks on Dartmoor and Exmoor, within a 60-minute drive. Why not combine a short break in North Devon with a couple of days in the pottery? We offer pottery activities to suit all ages - and dog prints too! Have a look at our website or ask. Guest access You have private gated access to the cottage, with parking for 2 cars and your own private walkway down to the meadow where you'll find our woodland. Enter the property itself through a characterful farmhouse door. Outside, at the front of the cottage, is a relaxing patio area with a table and 4 chairs, perfect for an outside breakfast or coffee. Other things to note Up to 2 dogs are welcome but must be arranged before arrival. We charge £20/dog/stay. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times whilst in the grounds due to the proximity of livestock on neighbours' land. The fabulous RHS Rosemoor Gardens is less than a 10-minute drive from the cottage. So if you love gardens, you’ll be in your element, enjoying the planting throughout the seasons.
