Description
The Ecotourist's House is for those looking for something really different from conventional tourism. An ancient agricultural shelter recovered in bio-architecture, it is a small self-sufficient island house from an energy point of view, isolated in the Salento countryside. It is located in the Public Olive Grove of the Paduli Park, a symbolic place and open-air museum. It is part of a living cultural project. If you want to slow down and experience a place full of meaning, this is the right place for you. The space La Casa dell'Ecoturista offers a unique and unusual experience, far from conventional tourism. It is not just a vacation home, but a place to live with awareness. If you are looking for standard comforts and immediate services, it is better to know right away: perhaps this is not the right place for you. The house is an ancient agricultural shelter recovered in an eco-friendly way, isolated in the center of the Salento countryside. It works like a real self-sufficient "island": energy produced by the sun with a storage system, water from a cistern, and phytodepuration of wastewater. Comfort is essential but well-kept; guests are required to use water, electricity, and proper separate collection carefully. The Ecotourist House is located within the Public Olive Grove of the Multifunctional Agricultural Park of the Paduli, a small field in the open countryside, 2.5 km from the village of San Cassiano. It is a space for public use, the heart of the Santi Paduli project that revolves around responsible tourism, social agriculture and landscape regeneration. Over time, the olive grove has been transformed into an open-air museum, thanks to Land Art interventions, events, workshops and the construction of "artist's nests", biodegradable shelters made from recycled agricultural materials. Staying here means becoming part, even for a few days, of a collective and symbolic project, made up of nature, slowness and respect. If you are ready to adapt and live in a place full of meaning, the Ecotourist's House can offer you a rare experience. If you are looking for a traditional vacation, we invite you to choose another destination. Guest access The Public Olive Grove is located in the open countryside, in an isolated setting about 2.5 km from the village of San Cassiano. The last stretch of access is a country lane: for this reason, it may not be easy to reach it with large cars. Guests stay in a lively and shared place: the house is for exclusive use, but the surrounding area is a public space. During the day, it is therefore possible to meet passers-by, hikers, or attend small activities of the association, such as cultural events or walks. This is part of the experience and the project that animates the place. Other things to note The house is equipped with dishes and linens, a set of biodegradable soaps (there is a phyto-purification system in the house), a hairdryer, a fan and a small fridge. There are also two small portable tables and deck chairs for outdoor use. In the outdoor space, among the trees and "artist's nests" there is also a large table with a pergola available to guests or passers-by.
