Immersed in the green and off the usual tourist circuit, but still only a stone’s throw away from the beauty of Lake Orta and Mottarone - our home is an ancient farmhouse, recently renovated, with a captivating view of the lake and surrounding hills. The environment is familiar and calm. We are equipped to accommodate children and your pets are also welcome... The space The apartment is composed of a double room (possibility to add 1 small bed for children up to 3 years), a private bathroom, a kitchen. The area is sunny and quiet, surrounded by beech and chestnut trees, and high on the hill to welcome lots of natural light. It’s the ideal base for exploring Orta, from calm, relaxing walks to long hikes through the wilderness. Locally you can find fresh organic food. In our home we attempt to live a sustainable and minimal waste lifestyle. We do so by utilizing various methods such as composting, dehydrating fruits and vegetables, eating local produce and products, incorporating solar energy into our home, recycling and reusing packaging and materials as well as growing herbs, fruits and vegetables in our small gardens. We encourage our guests to enjoy such a lifestyle while staying with us. There are also two sheep, a sweet donkey and a lovely little dog living with us on the property, we are happy to include you in our farm life or leave you alone to enjoy your privacy. Guest access All rooms are situated on the first floor, each with a separate entrance reached via a long wooden balcony. Guests are invited to use our large patio terrace, equipped with chairs and tables for lunches - or enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and view. It’s an environment where children can play freely and develop a relationship with nature. Other things to note To reach our house you have to drive 1 km unpaved road: this may be difficult for low-deck cars, and we recommend all cars to drive slowly, this is a natural, peaceful area where cars and speed do not dominate! We live mindfully, respecting nature and avoiding waste. We ask our guests to share our conscious use of electricity, heating and hot water, which comes in summer from a solar panel and in winter from a wood boiler. Registration details IT003006C2IA4R2PLS
