We offer B&B at Dovecote Barn which is in the hamlet of Fitz, 6 miles NW of Shrewsbury. Fitz is a rural location, close to the River Severn but also only 10 mins drive to the medieval, market town of Shrewsbury. Birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury has many independent cafes /shops and 600+ listed buildings. Great location if you are attending a wedding at Malt House Barn - 1.5 miles, Pimhill - 3 miles away or Rowton Castle, 7 miles away. The space Gallery Bedroom: Very comfortable King Sized wooden bed with a large separate bathroom with powerful shower and huge egg shaped bath right next door. A second bedroom with a double bed and ensuite shower room is also available - please see separate listing under Dovecote Barn - Garden Room on Airbnb. If you would like to bring your dog - dogs are allowed in the Garden Room and The Old Dairy. Organic/local produce breakfast is served in the Ginny Ring, a large hexagonal sitting room where originally a horse walked around a stone mill grinding corn. The original spindle post is still in the centre. Guest access Guests are welcome to relax in the Ginny Ring which looks out on the garden and dovecote. There are comfy sofas, table tennis table and great views towards the Welsh Hills. During your stay Happy to help out with recommendation for where to eat out. I have a collection of OS maps for keen walkers that cover The Long Mynd, Llangollen, Lake Vernwy which you are welcome to borrow. Other things to note We have one cat called Nonsense - I understand many people are allergic to cats so I try to keep bedroom doors shut to stop them wandering into the bedrooms. If there is no parking available on the gravel drive directly in front of Dovecote Barn - please feel free to park on the front lawn as it has plastic matting under the lawn.
