Quirky Tin Cottage near the Mendip Hills

Our cottage is a quirky wooden framed, tin clad cottage, sitting on the banks of a stream, next to our house. Although small it feels much bigger with a fully equipped kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It can sleep 4 people with the use of the sofa bed. It features a wood burning stove, (it also has central heating ;-)), a gorgeous mural across one wall, a veranda for sitting and watching the world go by, oh and it also has full WiFi, smart TV and sound system if this all sounds a little rustic. The space Although small it has a beautifully spacious feel with the verandah making it feel even bigger. The entire back wall is covered by a mural of trees painted by a local artist. Enjoy cosy winter evenings by the wood burning stove or sunny summer ones swinging in the hammock on the verandah. For the more technologically minded the cottage has full wifi, a smart tv and bluetooth soundbar. One thing to bear in mind is the mobile signal can be very patchy in the village, so if you want to get away from the rat race then you won't be disturbed :) The cottage was built by ourselves from reclaimed timber, everything from the pine cladding to the nifty mobile charging point was built by hand. We have had a lot of fun sourcing vintage and retro items from far and wide, the bedroom curtains were found in a street market in Madrid. The woodburner was made by a little company in Caerphilly. We built the cottage in our own garden with our own hands and loved doing it, not everything is perfectly made but we have tried our very best to make the cottage a very special place to stay. Guest access There is a parking space for you to use. The cottage has a small secure area outside ( no grass unfortunately ) but you can make use of our field if you bring your dog. This is accessed from the road. There are numerous walks right on our doorstep, just ask and we can direct you. The nearest shop is in Blagdon which is a few minutes drive away. The award winning Alvis farm shop is the other end of our back lane. Other things to note If you have 4 people staying then please be aware that the bathroom and toilet are accessed through the bedroom
