Groves Hall bnb Near Whitby with fabulous views

Just 5 minutes from the historic town of Whitby, Groves Hall is a haven of tranquillity. Built in 1750,and Grade II Listed it is set in seven acres, with mature and well laid gardens, which take advantage of the views over the Esk Valley and River Esk. The rental is for the East Wing of the house with its own front door. Furnished in a unique style, it has been described as 'quirky' and 'home from home' by our guests.We take two guests at a time, so it is a relaxing place to come and stay The space You do not just get a large twin en-suite bedroom at Groves Hall, we also provide a marble floored sitting room for your own use which has a huge Georgian fireplace, to burn logs in the cooler months, though we are fully centrally heated.There are cosy sofas, coffee table, original artwork and quirky items from our years of collecting the strange and weird, - a great place to read, sit cosily or play games. Basically, you have the East wing of Groves Hall, with your own entrance, so it is more like a private duplex apartment, with the benefit of catered breakfast. There is a large twin bedroom overlooking the garden, with two vintage European single beds, (with handmade extra comfortable mattresses), a fabulous en- suite Art Deco bathroom and a separate private mezzanine overlooking Woodlands, where breakfast is served, when it is not warm enough to have breakfast on the terrace in the garden. We also leave fresh coffee, Cafetiere, tea, teapot, milk, biscuits etc for our guests to help themselves to in the evening. Groves Hall is situated just five minutes from Whitby, North Yorkshire, in the beautiful and peaceful Esk Valley, and has a commanding view over the surrounding countryside. It is a Grade II listed Georgian 18th Century stone built property set in seven acres, with mature gardens featuring specimen trees and plants Parking is on the forecourt for cars and we have secure storage for bicycles. We have 300 metres of river frontage on the Esk, from where it is possible to fish during the season for salmon and sea trout if you purchase a day permit from us, and have a fishing license. We are lucky enough to be on the route of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, and in the summer, steam trains go past four times a day, between Whitby and Pickering. The local area is wonderful for walking, cycling, fishing, painting, horse riding, bird watching, relaxing etc, with the bonus of being five minutes drive from the bustling town of Whitby, which is full of shops, restaurants, pubs, Whitby Abbey etc... There is FreeSat tv in the bedroom, and Superfast Wi-Fi throughout the building.. Parking is on the forecourt, with a secure area for bicycles, and motor bikes. We are a non-smoking household , and do not take pets, but we do have very friendly cats. As well as a Full English breakfast, which is locally sourced, we can offer delicious Vegetarian and Vegan breakfasts, plus a selection of different menu ideas for those who have special dietary requirements. The bus service to and from Whitby is twice an hour, plus there is also the railway, which runs from Whitby to Middlesbrough, through the beautiful Esk Valley. This is an ideal spot to unwind, as it is so peaceful, with very little passing traffic, and glorious views. The garden is laid out with many seating areas which take advantage of the sunshine all day long - perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and a good book! In the Summer we can set up Badminton or Croquet on the lawn. Guest access Access to the gardens, and in the Summer we have Badminton or Croquet set up.
