Studio flat w/ensuite, kitchenette & garden

The Garden Studio is a large private studio/flat ringed with windows with en suite bathroom, kitchenette with patio and garden - everything you need to be self contained during your stay. The studio is the G/F end of our house with its own access . Located in the centre of Blisland with a green, church, a shop/post office with cafe & award winning pub, a short stumble away. We are on the edge of Bodmin moor with miles of views, walks & wild ponies, only a mile from the Camel Trail. The space The Artists Studio Cornish-hideaway THE HOUSE The house is set just off the village green and near to the popular pub, the Blisland Inn, in the very beautiful village of Blisland on the edge of Bodmin Moor. It feels very quiet and rural but is only 5 minutes off the main A30 and 10 minutes away from Bodmin with all the ameneties and shops. The Studio is an annexe of our house with a large bedroom, en-suite bath, and kitchenette. The Studio has its own private entrance from its designated parking space, through is own private garden and to the French doors into the room. Here’s some of the details on this Cornish hideaway. - Private access - Designated parking space - King size bed (or two singles if requested in advance) - En-suite bathroom with full bath, shower over, lots of towels, hair drier, iron and compact ironing board and basic toiletries - Kitchenette with hotplate, microwave, utensils and cooking pots etc - At one end of the main room is a small dining area with table and chairs - Toaster - Plates, cutlery, coffee cups, wine glasses - Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread and butter are provided – so you don’t need to think about breakfast for your first morning with us. BRINGING YOUR DOG We have recently started to allow dogs at our studio as we know your dog is part of your family. Please keep them off the bed and the chair - it would be great if you could bring the bed they usually sleep on with you. If they are used to sleeping on the bed them please bring a blanket for them to lie on. Also - please don't let them loose in our garden and very important - don't leave them alone here while you go out. I have had to make peace with my neighbours over dogs barking here for hours. THE GARDEN You will have almost exclusive access and use of our beautiful back garden. Right outside your door is a granite paved patio. You also have use of our lawn but please note there is a sunken feature in the garden with a small trickle of a river running through it. We rarely come into the back garden so you can feel very private there. PARKING You have your own parking space for the Artists Studio which leads right into the back garden and to the door to the room. EATING OUT There is a small kitchenette with everything you need to cook a simple meal, there is a shop in the village with the basics or large supermarkets in Bodmin only 10 minute drive away. If you would like to eat out the nearest is the Blisland Inn which is a 2 minute walk away, they do good pub classics and a superb Sunday lunch (book ahead for that). Within a 6 mile radius you have other pub grub options, St Tudy Inn has a very well though of restaurant that has received Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2017. The St Maybyn Inn is also known for their food and the St Breward Inn has a famous carvery. If you fancy a fancy meal, Rick Stein’s at Padstow is only 15 miles away. GREAT FOR COUPLES- The Studio is the perfect size for a couple wanting a getaway to the countryside and enjoy a little peace and quiet, and with the pub just next door you need never leave the centre of Blisland if you don't feel like it. GREAT FOR CYCLISTS – The Studio is on national Cycle Route 3 and lies less that a mile from the Camel Trail an 18 mile off road permissive way that runs along the River Camel from St Breward to Padstow along an old railway track. The Camel Trail is used by cyclists, walkers, joggers and horseriders. If you like a more demanding route we are only a mile away from Bodmin Moor where you can cycle for hours and hours. For trail riders there is the new mountainbiking trails at Cardinham Woods and Lanhydrock. GREAT FOR WALKERS – The Artists Studio is just off Bodmin Moor with hundreds of miles of footpaths and ancient monuments to explore including Neolithic hut circles, stone circles, ancient field systems and the 1000’s of years of habitation remains at Roughtor and Brown Willy. We are also within easy reach by car of the Cornish Coast Path with 100’s of miles of coastline walks GREAT FOR NATIONAL TRUST MEMBERS – We are about 6 miles away from Lanhydrock one of the Trusts most popular stately homes as well as many other Trust properties. GREAT FOR SURFERS, BEACHLOVERS AND WILD SWIMMING ENTHUSIASTS – The Studio is a half hour drive from Polzeath Beach with fantastic surf and lots of surfboard and wetsuit hire options as well as boutiques and restaurants. We are also not far from the fantastic surfing beaches of the Newquay area and within easy reach of the more gentle beaches along the south coast if you enjoy wild swimming. GREAT FOR EXPLORERS – If you enjoy visiting quaint fishing villages like Port Isaac – where Dr Martin is filmed, Padstow or Fowey – Daphne DeMaurier’s old haunt then this is a good base to explore from. Guest access We are offering the private studio with a superking bed or 2 singles (please ask in advance if you would like the room made up with singles) and an additional single trundle bed that can be made available by prior arrangement which would be suitable for a child. The Studio is en suite and has a kitchenette with hotplate, fridge, microwave and cooking and eating utensils with a dedicated kitchen sink for dishes etc. The access from the parking space is flat with a gravel path from parking space, through a wooden gate into the garden and on to the private entrance, there is a little bit of a slope with a sharp turn at the house but no steps or obstacles on the way. there is a ow step into the studio from the patio. You will find the keys in a safe by the doors. Other things to note This is primarily a room suitable for a couple or a couple with a child. If you would like the trundle bed please let me know. We can separate the king size bed into two singles if you would like but you must let us know in advance. We can take pets by prior arrangement, there are cats here so dogs on lead please. Also no dogs on the furniture and please don't leave them here alone while you go out.. our pub is super dog friendly .
