The village is well served with a hotel (serves meals and is dog friendly), bar, chemist, post office and shop, hairdressers, cafe and an excellent fish and chip shop. Portknockie also has an open air paddling pool at the harbour, outdoor bowling green, a play park and tennis courts. There are walking and cycling paths with spectacular views over the Moray Firth and if your lucky sightings of passing bottle-nose dolphins. Visit the Bow Fiddle Rock, a natural arch formed by the waves which provides a natural roosting spot for gulls and cormorants. Gull Cottage is a 5 min walk from all the above amenities. The Moray coast is festooned with golf courses with Cullen Golf Club a mere 5 min drive away. Gull Cottage is also an ideal base for exploring further afield with easy access to the beautiful beaches of Lossiemouth and Nairn or the Malt Whiskey Trail in glorious Speyside, Inverness, Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park are all within a two hour drive through stunning scenery.
