Start Bay Centre - Exclusive Hire

FSC Start Bay Centre is part of the Field Studies Council (FSC), an environmental education charity dedicated to helping people of all ages to experience the environment at first hand; to discover, explore and be inspired by the natural world. The centre is a self-contained property situated at the top of Slapton village, surrounded by beautiful countryside. The building, which used to be the village primary school, features in Michael Morpugo’s book Adolphus Tips. The space You will have the whole building to yourselves with plenty of space. The property sleeps 40 guests in 8 bedrooms, with a large, secluded and enclosed garden including a low ropes course and fire-pit/barbecue area. There is a large common room, dining room and kitchen. Please note this is hostel style accommodation and while we supply linen we do not provide a bed making service. Please could you bring your own towels. Some rooms are ensuite whilst others share showers and toilets. We provide a small amount of basic household essentials. Should you require more, the village shop is open from 8am-1pm daily. Guest access You will have access to the whole centre. Other things to note This accommodation is ideal for large gatherings of family and friends, but please note that we do not accept stag or hen parties.
