Description
Our pretty & comfortable glamping tent is pitched on our sheltered campsite, surrounded by trees & fields. The tent is fitted with a double bed, bedding, chairs, rugs, a dining shelter with camping stove & cooking equipment, crockery & cutlery. There is room for 2 children however CHILDREN'S BEDS & BEDDING ARE NOT INCLUDED. Feed our sheep, hens. Our dogs are very friendly. Paddle in the river, have a nature trail in the meadow & a campfire in the orchard. The tents are off-grid (no electricity) The space The campsite is part of our small holding. It is set in rural Devon. Our glamping tents are pitched next to the campsite which has shared toilets and a shower facilities. We provide a double bed, sheets, duvet cover and pillow cases, duvet and pillows. We also provide towels for two adults. There is enough cutlery and crockery for 4 people, a cooking stove, cooking equipment, utensils and a cool box. Ice blocks can be frozen at the house. There is a table and 4 chairs outside the tent under the dining shelter and two chairs inside the tent. Guest access Visitors are free to wander round our fields and the meadow. Our sheep are friendly and will come looking for food. If you would like to feed the sheep, we have special sheep nuts which you can give them. We have a small old orchard where our campfire circle is available for guests to use. Bags of wood for sale at the house. We have access to the River Thrushel which is suitable for splashing around in on hot sunny days. In Tinhay and Lifton there are a number of local pubs to eat at and an excellent farm shop which also has a restaurant. Dartmoor National Park and the coast are within an easy drive of the campsite plus many other visitor attractions in Devon and Cornwall. The Barn Climbing centre is just 15 minutes drive away and plenty of outdoor climbing in Dartmoor National Park Tamar trails offers great dog walks and mountain biking. 'The Tamara Way' as featured on BBC's Country File passes through our village as does the Okehampton to Launceston 'Two Castles Way' We have fishing rights to a small section of the River Thrushel and there is also fishing at the local lake in Tinhay. Sailing and water sports can be found at Roadford Lake, just a couple of miles from Tinhay. Surf can be found 45 minutes drive to either the north or south coast of Devon/Cornwall. The towns of Launceston and Tavistock are approximately 20 minutes drive away. Other things to note The shower and toilets on the camping field are also for the use of Glamping guests. Please bring your own shower gel and shampoo. We ask all guests to clean the shower and basin when you have finished washing. Cleaning products are provided for your use. There is a campfire area in the orchard, next to the camping area, which can be used for BBQ or for toasting marshmallows etc. In order to reduce waste, please take left over food home or place in the food waste bucket next to the recycling bins. Please also recycle all your cardboard, plastic, tins, glass and paper. We currently do not have a specific washing up area. The tent is equipped with a washing up bowl, washing up liquid, a dish cloth and tea towel. Guests are expected to heat up water on their stove and wash up under their own dining shelter.
