Cosy Farm Pod
Description
The pod is situated in the grounds of Leades House Farm, 8km from Macroom. On the grounds of Leades House, you will find a beautiful serene setting of streams, lakes and rolling hills, and winding trails among superb plant life. The pod, adjacent to the beautiful Lee Valley, is approximately halfway between Cork and Killarney, and within easy reach of many Cork/Kerry attractions, i.e. Blarney Castle, Clonakilty, numerous West Cork beaches/islands, to Killarney National Park, to name but a few. The space Nestled in the hearth of rural Cork, the space surrounding the pod comprises an open free range farm with magnificent Victorian gardens and storybook scenery. This is ideal for nature lovers or those who just want to get away. Work is ongoing to restore the picturesque garden, developing an organic vegetable patch, but also incorporating a number of deliberately untamed areas, attempting to demonstrate the way the formal garden and the wilderness can thrive side by side. Our gardens are an idyllic environment for reading, drawing, painting, or picnicking, with the opportunity also for gorgeous strolls through enchanting woodlands, which host a wide variety of flora and fauna, where you may be lucky enough to spot foxes, badgers and the red squirrel. As for some of the animals on the farm, be amused and entertained while looking on as the hens, pigs, goats and more get on with their daily life. In our cosy pod, we hope you'll find all you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, including a kitchenette with an electric hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle, and a small shower and toilet room. There is a double bed and sofa bed in the pod with accompanying bed linen, with room also for a small folding single mattress suitable for a young child or cot if the table and chairs are placed outside at night. The deck outside the pod is a soothing tranquil spot for enjoying the morning sun upon awakening. Whether you are travelling from the countryside or an urban environment, we guarantee you will find this an exceptional place to visit. Leades House is part of the Aghinagh Way, an archaeological drive which also may be of interest to cyclists, featuring other places of interest including Carrigadrohid Castle, Mullinhassig Waterfall and the Carrigulla Stone Circle. The Leades estate came into the possession of the Woodley family in 1640 and they remained at Leades until 1981, giving this place a unique and remarkable history, waiting for you to discover, if you wish. Guest access Ample free parking is available right beside the pod. Macroom, a rural market town a 10-minute drive away, has lots of shops for all your needs, including Aldi, Dunnes Stores, Lidl and Supervalu. It is vital that guests have independent transport means. Other things to note As the pod is situated on a working farm, it is essential that children are accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
