Lakefront Cottage on Houghton Lake!

Our cottage is recently updated and provides all the amenities of home as well as access to everything you would want to do up north! 90 feet of waterfront access on 1/3 of an acre for plenty of room to relax and enjoy yard games with your friends and family. There are 3 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a sun room with a daybed that has two twin mattresses. There are also 1.5 bathrooms. There is also a nicely appointed living room with a comfortable seating. The house has WiFi access as well! The space As our guest we want you to feel welcome and comfortable while staying at our cottage. Please feel free to utilize all the amenities the property has to offer. You'll find the home is stocked with basic cleaning supplies and the half bath is equipped with a washer and dryer for your use. The kitchen has everything you may need to make a meal, pots, pans, baking sheets, and dinnerware. The kitchen also has small appliances such as a 12 cup flex brew carafe/Kcup coffee maker, a hot water kettle and 4 slice toaster for your use. We have a variety of board games, and a television with a roku in our living room for those late nights or rainy days. Each of the bedrooms are also equipped with televisions and roku streaming sticks. The cottage grounds offer plenty of space to enjoy all the beauty Michigan's largest inland lake has to offer. With 90 feet of water frontage, a private 100 foot dock, and all the green space for lawn games this property is sure to deliver a vacation full of fond memories. With several local vendors offering jet ski and boat rentals anyone can get out and really enjoy the beauty of the water. Please reach out for rental recommendations and keep in mind to make your reservations for rentals early they book up very quickly during the summer months. For those bringing their own water craft, the local DNR boat launch is only a few blocks away. When coming back from a day enjoying the water and sun your sure to be ready for a meal, we have two BBQ grills for your use a four burner gas grill and a large charcoal grill. We do ask you provide your own fuel for both. Finally a lake vacation can't be complete until you enjoy a night or a few, under the stars with the warm glow of a bon fire. Our over sized bonfire pit lets everyone enjoy the warmth. No need to worry about where everyone will sit, we've got you covered there too, we have both adirondack chairs and a few folding camping chairs for your use. The property is located close to two grocery stores, Family Fare and a Walmart for all your shopping needs. We are also just a stones throw away from two of Houghton Lakes well known events, Bud Bash (first Saturday in August), and Tip Up Town Michigan's longest running winter festival (usually the last two weekends in January). If you have any questions we didn't answer please don’t hesitate to ask, we are more than happy to engage with our guests. Guest access Guests have full access to everything within the home. We do not allow access to the attached garage or the shed. Our 60'x30' driveway offers space for 3 vehicles and 1 boat, jet ski or snowmobile trailer. Additional parking can be found up the street at the at the schools or library. You can walk to the DNR boat launch and a local bar the Limberlost but you'll need a vehicle to get to most places. Other things to note This house has plug covers on outlets and there is also a pack n play you have access to. Children are more than welcome! Pets are welcome on a case by case basis please ask before leaving your fur baby at home. The fireplace indoors is not for guest use, so please leave your bon fire outdoors! Also, if you decide to smoke there is no smoking in the house. If you do smoke outside any butts that are cleaned by the landscaping you'll receive an additional fee for clean up. Essential Starter Kit-We supply all our guests with some essential items to help get them started when they first arrive. Some items may need to be replenished by the guest during their stay. You are only asked to restock items you and your guests will need for the remainder of your stay. You are NOT expected to replace items provided to you in your starter kit for other renters. What you can expect when you first arrive. 1 Paper Towel Roll 2 Toilet Paper Rolls per bathroom 1 Dish Sponge Dish Soap Dishwasher detergent Lined Kitchen Garbage with backup bag K-Cup Coffee Pods, Assorted tea bags and sugar Laundry detergent 1 Bath Soap Due to upper Michigan's harsh winters and our lake front location the dock, picnic tables, umbrella, gas BBQ grill and adirondack chairs are available for use from the week leading to memorial day thru the end of labor day week. Please keep in mind this is a lake front property, and some things are not in our control. This environment is home to many of mother natures creatures including but not limited to, seagulls, geese, mayflies, mosquitos and large birds like hawks and eagles. Lastly there should be no parties thrown as the property is limited to 8 guests maximum. To respect our neighbors, parking is limited to 3 vehicles in our driveway and 1 boat, jet ski, snowmobile trailer. There is absolutely no street parking at any time.
