A characterful and cosy family cottage. Built in the early 1800s, Frondeg retains its original charm but with modern comforts. Frondeg is on a quiet street in the heart of Newport village and is ideal for couples and small families. The beautiful Nevern estuary, beaches and Pembrokeshire Coastal Path are all close by. Friday-Friday bookings only during school summer holidays. Discounts available for bookings longer than 1 week, off peak. Please enquire. The space Frondeg is on a quiet side street in Newport. With its sunny back garden, it is a peaceful retreat while only a few minutes’ walk from all the shops and local amenities. It sleeps a maximum of 4 adults - in two double bedrooms. There is WiFi. Please note that phone reception is not reliable inside the property. The original cottage dates back to the early 1800s and we have maintained its traditional charm. Frondeg has been in the family for three generations and is a much loved home. The inglenook fireplace has a wood-burning stove that is very cosy in winter. It is all on one level, except for a small step into the kitchen (leading to bathroom and second bedroom.) Newport (Trefdraeth) is a little gem, nestled in the Pembrokeshire National Park at the edge of the stunning Preseli Mountains. Frondeg is the perfect base to explore the area, relax on sunny days or embrace the elements on wilder ones! Guest access Amenities: Fridge with small freezer section, Electric Hob, Oven, Microwave, TV, DVD player. Ironing board and Iron. Baby’s highchair available on request. DVDs and some children's toys (age 0-3) Two garden deckchairs available for use - plus outside garden bench. Wifi No pets allowed - sorry! The cottage is all on one level except for one small step into the kitchen- leading to the bathroom and second bedroom. There is a small step to the front door. The loft area is private and we kindly ask guests not to use it. Other things to note During high season and school holidays we only take weekly bookings, with FRIDAY as the changeover day. Shorter stays (three nights minimum) are available during off-peak times. There is free street parking for one car only directly outside the cottage. There is a pay and display car park on Long Street in the village. There are electric car charger stations available here - please do not attempt to charge using the cottage supply. There is Wi-Fi – but phone reception is not reliable within the property. No pets. There is no washing machine. The 'Washday' launderette in the village is a 2 minute walk. You can also hire beach towels from there. There is a wood-burning stove and we can advise where to buy logs and kindle locally.
