Rowan Cottage, Fingask Castle, Rait Perthshire

Our place is half way between Perth and Dundee. About an 1 hr from Edinburgh and 1 hr 15m from Glasgow. Hidden in the Perthshire countryside, on a hillside with gardens and wooded areas to explore, Fingask has a magic about it and feels like it is far away from the world (it's only 5 mins off the A90). This place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families with kids. Pets are welcome too (though please do not leave them on their own for extended time). The space Rowan is a two storey cottage, in the middle of the courtyard. The back door leads onto the shared lawn (garden furniture provided in the spring and summer) and the front door leads onto the courtyard. Ground floor - open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area. The fully fitted kitchen has fridge/freezer, cooker and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a log burner in the sitting/dining area (starter 'pack' of logs provided.. First floor - a double bedroom and twin bedroom with hand basin, plus bathroom which contains a bath, shower cubicle, toilet and basin. There is space for an occasional 'camp bed' in the twin room if needed. The heating in this cottage is electric, which is included in the cost. Guest access Guests are welcome to stroll around the grounds which were first laid out in the 17th Century by the ancestors of the present owner. Please respect the families privacy and avoid the area immediately around the Castle. At Fingask we have a games room with a full sized snooker table, table tennis and table football. A simple offering but hours of fun can be had. The outdoor pool is heated a little to take the chill off from the Scottish weather. It is usually open from Easter until October, though this is subject to weather conditions. Other things to note If there is a wedding during your stay, please avoid the front of the Castle and the Pavilion.
