This lovely, semi-detached stone cottage is situated in the south part of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is the perfect property to base yourself in if you are looking to explore the area. The property was a former school built in the 1860’s before being converted into cottages, and is accessed down five steps from the road. There is an open-plan kitchen/dining room with all the appliances you could need, including a coffee machine, leading onto the lovely cosy living room with exposed stonework. This room also has a wood burner - great for those chilly nights. On the first floor is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed, decorated to a high standard, whilst the second bedroom has a single bed with a pull out bed underneath. The family bathroom consists of bath with electric shower and toiletries are provided. There is masses to discover in this area. You have the Brecon Beacons National Park with south Wales’ highest mountain, Pen Y Fan, where the views on a good day here are spectacular. You also have the dark skies, so worth a trip up in the evening. The National Showcaves Centre for Wales is a short drive from the property and offers a great day out, and there is also BikePark Wales for those cycling/mountain bike enthusiasts. It is the largest bike park in the UK and has some fabulous routes for all types of riders. The waterfalls at Ystrafelta are just magnificent, or for beach lovers, the Gower Peninsula is less than an hour’s drive. This Area of Outstanding Beauty has some amazing beaches - Worms Head at Rhossilli is definitely worth a visit and there are some fantastic views to be had.
