Description

53 Church Street served as a corner shop for many years, still evidenced by the door sign. It is likely to be around 500 years old, and has been lovingly restored to re-create an unmistakably historic building with all the modern comforts you could possibly want in a holiday home. From a four poster bed to a sleek, modern bathroom, from a beamed, cosy lounge to a characterful kitchen, and from a winding oak staircase to a breathtaking view of the spectacular Abbey. The space 53 Church Street is directly opposite the historic Bell Hotel, so breakfast, lunch or evening meal are on your doorstep if you want to take it easy! There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, cosy tea rooms & takeaways within easy walking distance of the cottage, including Italian, Indian, Greek, Chinese and traditional British When you come in through the old shop door, you'll find yourself in a comfortable lounge/diner. Light and airy with a cosy wood burning stove and an absolute wealth of original features, it's an ideal place to put your feet up and relax. Leading from the lounge is the fully equipped kitchen, and a winding oak staircase to the upper floors where there are 2 beautiful bedrooms, a modern bathroom, and unrivalled views of the magnificent Tewkesbury Abbey, which lies directly opposite the cottage.
