Spectacular views over Cape Town & Sea & Mountain!
Description
On the slopes of Table Mountain is our large 5 ☆ rated boho style studio apartment. MAGNIFICENT views of the City, the Bay, Table Mountain, Robben Island, Lions Head, Signal Hill (and on a clear day all the way to the winelands and to the West Coast national Park too). Very private, spacious, bright and quiet. 5 min drive to town, 10 min to the best beaches. One block from the Mountain walks and cycle tracks. On the bus route. A much loved home. The space Views, views, views!!! This very large studio apartment is the entire top floor of my house. It is a large (75m2) completely private from the main house, self contained, open plan studio apartment. It has lots of natural light and views that go on forever. It is North facing so it faces the sun, and is always light and sunny. Thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between bookings. We also provide ample hand and also surface sanitizer bottles. It is a happy, much loved home. It comprises of a comfy queen sized bed, a lounge and a dining area. The Victorian style bathroom with shower, is off the main room. A separate, but open-plan fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is above my house and has its own separate entrance. Large fireplace inside, and a braai (bbq) on the balcony. The large balcony is completely protected from the strong South Easter wind that can blow in the summer months. Magnificent views of Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Robben Island, the Waterfront, Devils Peak, Lions Head (partially obscured by a tree at the moment, waiting for my neighbours to trim it back again) Cape Town Stadium, the ships, the old Bo-Kaap and all of the beautiful City Bowl. You can even watch (through the telescope) the dignitaries arriving on the red carpet and into the front doors of parliament. Watch the hundreds of full moon hikers on Lions Head with their headlamps lighting up the trails, transforming the mountain into a magical sparkling wonderland. "To the Cape’s indigenous people, the Khoi-Khoi pastoralists and the San hunter-gatherers, the area now occupied by central Cape Town was known as Camissa, Place of Sweet Water, as anyone who has drunk from Table Mountain’s streams would attest to" We live just one house away from one of these streams. In summer it runs dry, but in winter it flows beautifully. from May til October, you will always hear the running river, and of course the frogs. Creative souls are drawn to this home, and we have many repeat visitors. In this beautiful space, books, screen plays and operas have been written here, and painters paint, and singers sing. We are central to EVERYTHING, the mountain, the beaches, airport, the winelands, the penguins, the kelp forests, the city... and everything in between. The small Eco Park over the road where all the flowerbeds are packed full with indigenous plants. It is one of the very few public places in the city bowl where you can stand on one spot and see all four peaks (Table Mountain, Devils Peak, Lions Head and Signal Hill) uninterrupted by buildings or trees. Guest access Your well lit, dedicated street parking bay is right outside the front gate. Parking is free. The apartment is completely private. It has its own entrance and front door. There are steps up to the apartment. It is unfortunately inaccessible for wheelchairs. Other things to note My beloved dogs are kept in a separate garden area. They are all friendly... if you are missing yours and need a hug. If you enjoy their company we can easily open the gate between the two gardens. We provide milk, tea and coffee and cereals on your first day of arrival, and a grocery cupboard with all the basics. There is a fabulous supermarket around the corner which has most supplies, and also the best huge chocolate croissants from 7am... until sold out. We have not included a mandatory cleaning fee as almost all our guests are happy to clean up after themselves. If you would prefer to hire a cleaner, please let me know and I'll book one for you. R350 for 3 hrs. We have the basic DSTV Access package. If you would like to upgrade to the full package for your stay, please let me know and I'll let you know the cost which you can pay when you arrive. Please note in the past years SA has had power outages/loadshedding. If it should return, they generally occur once or twice a day. They only last for 2 hours and are pretty well organised. There is an app called ESP which you can download and it gives the times of day they will take place in each area (our area is Vredehoek). We are pretty used to it now, and well stocked up with solar lights, torches candles, uninterrupted wifi and gas cooking plates. Most shops and restaurants have generators or other systems installed to work around loadshedding.
